It’s amazing. Football and City’s exploits have really distracted me through lockdown and work. Going for a quadruple until yesterday and my stomach being in a knot for games has been a great ride. Been posting on the pre match Villa thread and speculating about that and the final afterwards.
With one bit of news I’m almost disenfranchised.

So have UEFA though.
Think this is spot on. Citys best self-interest is probably getting into the boys club in the super league.

Its a shame the murder of domestic football will be the price, but hey atleast we didnt instigate it. All though we probably will get the blame for this as well, even though Perez and the pathetic yanks have their fingerprints all over the scene

But Europe is the only place to play football at the top level. Latin American leagues might not have a wage cap, or a limit to the wages:turnover ratio, but there is (for now) nowhere near enough money in their league system to remotely compete with Europe. Not sure about the MLS though, to be fair. Anyway what I mean is clearly this super league isn't proposing a literal wage cap, but a limit to spending will have a similar effect.
Correct, it may not be called a salary cap but a limit on what percentage of revenue can be spent on players wages is a still a salary cap.

I See this is already being twisted as the only way clubs like Liverpool and Milan can compete due to our spending, ycmiu

These teams are gonna have to have huge squads of players and the quality in games will suffer as we seen on sat

I’m really looking forward to Soriano explaining to us his thought process...
I have the brief statement here;

The only logical reason for City to go for this Idea would be some preferential treatment in the Super League and a concrete seat at the top of the table.
But as the reports suggest even if we are part of the Super League the chairman and the vice chairman are all from the red scums. We are still playing second fiddle. Why the fuck have we agreed to sleep with the devil without even getting to sleep with the devil.
PSG decided to back UEFA a long time back and their Chairman did manage to get a seat on the table.
Do we have a seat in any of the table or would we just play along getting fucked by both UEFA and the istory' clubs.

What a pathetic sham!
If you are horrible enough to commit a crime, atleast be successful at it.

If joining the 'super league' doesn't affect domestic league status then it presumably means the end of any hope Leicester, Everton, West Ham, or any other club with ambition, have of ever reaching the next level, elite status (call it what you want). Surely us, and the other five will fill the top six places in the league every season because we'll have an even greater share of the spoils than we already enjoy. Apart from what appears to be the gross unfairness of it, signing up to a proposal that will be managed by the US Mafia seems like we'd be keeping our enemies far too close for comfort. It's a win/win situation for them with regard to us, if we sign up, they get a huge say in our finances, if we don't sign then we're just where they always wanted us, outside the clique.
