We dont all live in UK and oh yes, people in Europe watch a lot of basketball and the name Jordan is 10x more famous than someone called De Bruyne i guess. As a football and City fan i know a lot more footballers than maybe other athletes ,but saying Lebron and Jordan are not world wide stars are bollocks.
A correct comparison to Jordan is Messi or Ronaldo who's names ring out just as loud as his worldwide.

Solhekol on ssn
“Now the anger of the 14 clubs, now this is really important, it’s not directed at the six premier league clubs.
These 14 clubs have nothing against Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea”
Think you forgot someone there you twat.
If it’s that important you’d think he’d at least get it right.
Never liked that smarmy ****.
Hes talking shite as per usual, please can we get a ban on the 'kaveh solhekol' across this forum, he hasn't got a clue.

So far every club is report to have a wobble? I cant see it personally, its too far gone.

I would love it for all English clubs to pull out leaving only the Spanish and Italians. If a superleague is to be formed I would still wager that the Premier League would be in a fantastic position if none of our teams joined it. They would want some form of competion involving the best PL teams.

Its the best we can hope for now. By the way, the new CL format is even worse than the old one. Will be dire football and will ensure the likes of United and Liverpool forever qualify for it with the introduction of wildcards. UEFA are just as much a disgrace for allowing this.

Nope.

The UEFA proposal has qualification based on ‘historic achievement’ as well, so you’d still get Liverpool finishing 8th and getting in off the back of underperformance in the League.

Not to mention the huge hike in games will be a challenge to the integrity of the National Leagues too, particularly if the top teams don’t have to worry about trying as they’ll qualify anyway.

And the bunch of crooks behind it are as morally compromised and hateful towards our club as the other lot.

I simply do not share your opinion about one being infinitely better than the other. They both fucking stink, and to be honest I’d we leave the ESL (which I want) and sign up to UEFA’s shit show of a revamped CL I will be just as angry as I am about the ESL.
I agree that both alternatives as contemplated now are poor, with neither 100% merit-based in rule.

But here's the difference: the ESL is the inevitable step in the direction of a permanently closed league in which City play against only those clubs in that league. Not today, but eventually. It's why so many of us keep saying that this isn't a replacement for Champions League -- it's ultimately a replacement for national football leagues themselves.

Why? Because a permanently closed league can recycle every last drop of revenue among its members, with no leakage to and no sharing with the rest of the professional game.

Obviously that's not how the ESL is currently contemplated -- what with 5 "open slots" and solidarity payments -- but it's what the owners would quite logically want. They want to blow up the entire pyramid structure and replace it with a closed system, as in America.

i just want.

Premier League....or back to good old Division 1
FA Cup
League Cup
Winners of each league....compete in European Cup
Winners of each main domestic trophy...compete in Cup Winners Cup

Thats friggin plenty
Exactly. European football should be a bonus, not the aim.

Just watched Garry Neville's latest on Sky, whatever his past or his allegiances, he has some balls and my respect for him is enormous, he is calling this out for what it is, this IS an attack on the game we love, it must be stopped, this is a time to stick together as a football community and save football as we know it.

The rivalry can wait and will be stronger than ever when this sh1t show is sorted.
Just a general question and I'm not the enemy as I want this ended too. Would you think Gary and Sky be as public if they were to be awarded the contracts for the TV deals? Maybe Gary might have been when the news broke but I can't imagine for one minute his employers would be too happy if it continued if they were in the running for any commercial deals. He has a long way to go to have any respect from me, but at least he is using his platform correctly on this topic.

Pep fucking Guardiola you beautiful bald bastard

“I don’t know what is going to change. [Even if] the people say: ‘No, no, maybe four or five teams can go up and play this competition,’ [then] what happens to the 14 or 15 not playing a good season and every time will be there? So this is not sport.”
