Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL SF | Post-Match Thread

Just re-watched the match. The sight of the shithouse PSG players trying to get KDB sent off was pathetic. Fucking Neymar begging for red then all pally after the yellow came out.

I hope we bury the cunts at our place.

Mardarse fannies the lot of 'em.
I wouldn't mind rewatching it, good shout. It was so intense and fast the whole match seemed to be over in about half hour

Something missing from those away results though..

Dias and Stones!!!View attachment 15366
Barca and Bayern were both first legs...they're coming to Etihad down 2 away goals...much different situation, much different opponent...also, Bayern was minus Lewandowski, Gnabry, and very early on Goretzka...

Let's not underestimate PSG, they are quite capable of turning this tie on it's head.

I don't underestimate them, but, I suspect you are overestimating them.
We put them very firmly in their place yesterday. We didn't play brilliantly, but, in the second half, we assumed total control of the game. That is so demoralising for a team of fancy dans like PSG that there is absolutely no way they are coming back in this tie, barring some very unexpected event. I expect another City win at the Etihad,so, shall we make a date for Istanbul?
Have confidence - we are the best team in Europe when at full strength, as we were yesterday.

Totally agree. I worry about our ability to actually stick the ball in the net. Everything else is perfect, but we had 2 fluky goals yesterday and with them down to 10 men and us all over them, we had a golden opportunity to finish the tie off. I mean with us so rampant, and them knackered, deflated and depleted and we had things like that killer run and cross from Rodri and no-one making an effort to get on the end of it.

Lets not forget though that they have scored 3 away in Germany, 4 away at Barca and 3 away in Manc in the group stage

Paredes like a punk went out of his way to walk over Foden who was sitting on the ground after foul immediately before Mahrez free kick...

Phil had the perfect opportunity after this late on in the game to go down after Neymar tried to stop him with a high boot. Neymar, already on a booking, could have been given a 2nd yellow and he would have been suspended next week. Instead Phil rode the challenge and ran at their entire defence ending with a shot straight at Navas again.

How many possibilities would you like ?

Spanish referee.
Playing Mendy (I know he won't....please).
Early red card.
Pep overthinking the CL (see Monaco/Lyon), and picking the wrong players.
....and that's just a start.

We need to play with the intensity of the second half last night, not the first, we could have been 3-0 down at half time, and that was just from corners/free headers (and yes I've watched it back twice), even in the second half when they barely got in our half, we were fortunate the cross from Mbappe, wasn't put in by Varatti.

It's currently half time, we've had one poor quarter, and one great quarter, but there's still 2 more to come.

I'm quite confident that we are too good for them, but I won't take anything for granted, it will be another tough night, we're better away from home than at home recently, and they have a very good recent away record.
