Partridge

Anyone see it earlier ?

Bit nervous about watching it as I thought the last series was poor
Yeah. Mixed feelings. I laughed at a few bits, but other stuff was a bit cringy. Maybe it's supposed to be like that. The end was a let down. The social media sidekick isn't very good. He could do with someone like Owain, the weatherman from Granada TV, who to me appears almost like a scripted caricature.

The roving reporter girl segment is excellent, when they both try their hardest to humiliate the other by catching them out, and each time I'm willing Partridge to come out on top.

I love Partridge, think he’s one of the greatest British comedy characters ever created. Not seen last night’s episode yet, but looking forward to watching it later. The first series was a bit hit and miss, but with some genuinely brilliant bits (like the Irish Alan Partridge).

I’ve always loved Partridge. He’s created some of the funniest comedy scenes ever IMO.

Last night was more miss than hit. I laughed a few times but wanted it to end.
I’ll give it a go again next week though.

Huge fan but it was very poor, couple of laughs in there only. The monk section bad, the media part a repeat of something that was only hit and miss last time, the wedding and ending really bad.

Roving reporter was good.

It’s a version of Partridge & somewhat hit and miss.

On the hour/Day Today and Series Two partridge are up there with any great British comedic creation.

This incarnation does veer into the over performed sometimes but still has its moments.

The bit where he cuts his hand tapping on the window was classic partridge. Little moments like that make it for me.
Still some great comedy in there, but it's no where near as clever or well written anymore. The whole travel lodge series was superb, but it had loads of great characters for alan to bounce off.
This is struggling to work for me on the whole.
I'll still bloody watch it though.

Trying to pack in too much in the time, but the format being imitated lends itself to that. Probably requires multiple watches to catch everything.

Coogan peaked with his Paul & Pauline Calf characters.

The snidey Rag never thought that the stereotypical loser City supporter would turn right round though.
