He’s not the quickest but he would have needed prime Usain Bolt pace to keep up yesterday. Pep got it tactically wrong and Rodri was the one who paid the price.

If the idea was that Sterling and Torres would drop in to help him out, it was a fucking awful decision on Peps part. You have Torres who consistently goes missing for huge chunks of games and Sterling who cannot control or pass a football. I couldn’t think of two worse players in our side to ask to drop into midfield. Rodri would have struggled in there alone against Sheff United, he had no fucking chance yesterday. No excuse for his part in the 1st Chelsea goal though.

I think it was a rough decision for Torres and Sterling too. "Here you go lads, try and play yourself into the Champions League Final lineup. Oh by the way, you're playing out of position in an entirely new system with a bunch of players who are half-fit or have one foot out the door."

I can't say I'd be overly-motivated by that scenario.

If you try for a moment to rid yourself of the blame game mentality for yesterday's match you’ll see that most neutral commentators and stats merchants rate Rodri as having a fantastic season. Many have put him in their teams of the season as the defensive mid.

For everyone clammering for Ferna for the final just cast your mind back to how he played against Chelsea in the semi final - run ragged by Mount. So sometimes Ferna has very dodgy games as well .

Neither are perfect, perhaps Ferna aged 29 was but he isnt anymore. Pep will just have to be trusted to make the right call.

My worry is that someone gets injured in the run up to the game and we end up going with both.

That’s a fair point. All of them were shafted by the tactics.

Well said.

Schooled by Kante the other week, schooled by Bissouma tonight.

Can't even hide behind the usual "he's good if you surround him with players that can do his job for him" claims.

An upgrade should be our top priority this summer once we secure a new striker.

These last few weeks he’s really switched off. Constantly holding the ball & really sloppy passing. He’s like a different player

He’s making me bipolar. I’ve gone from saying he was absolute shite last season. To loving him up until approx a month ago. Then recently he’s gone absolute dump again. It’s been a long season and I am hoping it’s just tiredness but he’s doing my nut in at the moment. Their 1st comes from him having it ingrained in his head, that he has to pass backwards as quickly as possible after getting the ball. Get your fucking head up and play forwards.

He makes mistakes and stands there like idiot with hands up. Dude wtf run and try to rectify. He gave the ball away and watched the action unfold until they scored. Didn't even try to get back
