He’s not the quickest but he would have needed prime Usain Bolt pace to keep up yesterday. Pep got it tactically wrong and Rodri was the one who paid the price.
If the idea was that Sterling and Torres would drop in to help him out, it was a fucking awful decision on Peps part. You have Torres who consistently goes missing for huge chunks of games and Sterling who cannot control or pass a football. I couldn’t think of two worse players in our side to ask to drop into midfield. Rodri would have struggled in there alone against Sheff United, he had no fucking chance yesterday. No excuse for his part in the 1st Chelsea goal though.
