Im as pro vaccine as you can get. Signed up for a trial along with my 18 year old daughter, and was injected with vaccine or placebo last September, However I'm so glad mine are all over 18. I would have to think carefully about a Covid vaccine for a 12 year old.

First duty of a parent is to do anything they can to prevent harm coming to their children - well most of us will think that some don't.

Same here, even keep my dogs vaccines up to date! People suggesting it makes you a bad parent that isn’t ‘bovvered’ because you are concerned about a 5 year old having a brand new vaccine that isn’t even approved for kids, is laughable. They need to take a look in the mirror it seems.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.




Bolton 309 / 411 / DOWN 102 Testing positive 10.7%

Salford 187 / 90 / UP 97 Testing positive 9.4%

Manchester 181 / 101 / UP 80 Testing positive 10.0%

Bury 168 / 93 / UP 75 Testing positive 9.4%

Stockport 147 / 54 / UP 93 Testing positive 7.5%

Rochdale 121 / 80 / UP 41 Testing positive 9.9 %

Bolton down quite a bit with a three figure weekly POP score fall. Very rare but very good news.

Salford had the worst day today and after a run of bad numbers is now second behind Bolton. A long time since that happened - if ever.

Manchester and Stockport had slightly better days but are well up week to week - though hopefully just for a gfew more days.

Now only two boroughs below 100 - but you would not bet on that lasting long at the moment.

These POP numbers are the ones that really tell you where we are headed and right now the only way is up by a lot.

But that was true of Bolton two or three weeks ago and it is now certainly heading the other way.

So there is hope and expectation the rest of GM can follow that path and turn around their numbers too. Let us just hope things do not get up too high before they do.

Clearly you don’t, quite happy for something to be injected into them that isn’t even approved for them yet. Lets just pray that there doesn’t end up being any serious side effects and you turn out to be right.

I wasn't proposing to give any child any unlicensed medicine you dope - your attitude came across was that in your view there would be no point in giving licensed meds to a child because you are convinced that the thing they are being protected against won't do her any harm you couldn't be bothered to get her treated.

Bolton going well and has really turned the vaccination numbers round in past 3 weeks which may be a big factor in numbers falling.

Wigan catching up slowly to Stockport for most vaccinated. Manchester still do not have 30% with both doses when the UK have as a whole over 50% is still a concern.

Salford not that far behind.

Two university cities so lots of young people but some students have had two. One of my family has and she is 21.

Seems rather hit and miss.

matey the 3rd wave happened about 2 weeks ago ? its just been kept out of the news because of targets have to be hit that the government presented to the public so the june 21st can go ahead ? the government are in this for themselves looking after the rich people. they are letting the working class be human guinea pigs/test dummies for the covid-19 virus vaccines results

the 3rd wave will put the pressure on the government and kill any public support in the future. the other parties will have them over a barrel with there plans for getting out of covid-19 lockdown that was impossible to reach

so many things have been missed by the government ? the uk boarders should have be closed to Indian straight away
local uk Asian communities and other locals should have been heard tested. even if they have had one person coming back from indian into the community they should have been tracked and traced tested at the airport

True this. Govt have been criminally negligent over the borders. Especially Johnson and his "trade deal" with India. The only hope is the vaccines keep hospital admissions down. We'll have to live with more cases doing less harm

As it stands 2% of people from any of green, amber and red countries are testing positive so it's irrelevant really where those people are coming from. The traffic light system is pointless because it doesn't stop variants coming, it might stop 1,000 cases coming but it doesn't stop that one which gets through but one is enough.

We can see this by the fact that the Nepal variant was identified only a few days ago and it's already here! It's also in the US who have a far more restrictive border. We still have to remember though that our own variant was responsible for the majority of deaths over the winter so it isn't going to change much anyway.

You can see in this graph what the risk is and our current policy would be better served by better screening (I.E the last bar on the graph). Currently an antigen test is all that is required to enter the UK which is bar 2 and the second highest risk. The 14-day home/hotel quarantine for amber/red countries is basically the only thing in reality that is stopping variants and who knows how many people are complying with the quarantine.

I have had one vaccine then a bad bout of Covid and am due my second vaccine but honestly shit scared of having it as I still have no taste still and still weak as fuck compared to what I was pre Covid. Does it matter if I leave it a couple more months? How long will my current immunity last?
