Harry Kane

Rodri's form dipped late in the season, probably more down to fatigue than anything more.

Rodri is a quality player, but we do need someone more pacey and athletic to help him.
If he was genuinely top class as a holding midfielder he’d be fine in a team like ours with 2 hardworking 8’s in front of him. Dinho played there effectively in his prime with just Yaya ahead of him!

The way he set up his team in just a few months to play the way it did in the final is significant. It didn’t come close to getting eliminated against Porto, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid. Each of these teams plays a different football. And it had a comfortable ride in the final against us. They probably would’ve won against the classic formation too
CFC could easily have finished 5th and lost the CL. Football can do that.

No I am not underestimating him. I am waiting for him to do something significant. The significant moments in Chelsea's season relate to ineptitude elsewhere
There is some shite written on here across all topics, but this has to be up there with the fucking lot of em.

Win the Champions league with Chelsea, take PSG to their first Champions League final , Take over at Dortmund and continue to make them a very good side and Marvin still thinks he is lucky!

He did but Pep has got something. Tuchel just got very very lucky this season. Most of it as a result of sitting under Pep's high chair as he threw his toast and food around. But Pep is smart. Not sure Tuchel has anything. That remains to be seen. Defending is easy but it wont win titles.
Pep wasnt smart enough in the FA cup Semi or the CL Final. Tuchel was smarter on both occasions.

Took over Chelsea in 9th place, got them to a top 4 finish, fa cup final and won the champions league. Somehow that’s all down to someone else’s ineptitude and nothing to do with Tuchel?????

And gave the worlds best coach a lesson in that final with lesser players.

Not sure why Harry Kane would want to stay at Spurs. Levy made a big mistake getting rid of Poch. He was even more naive to think he could lure him back and also lure Conte to WHL with a zero transfer budget and their best players wanting to leave. Bizarre chairmanship.

100%

The acts of a desperate man. My gut tells me that he needs the big name manager to be able to Sell Kane without a complete supporter mutiny. But even that is beginning to look tricky with the number of rejections he's had.

He needed a big name manager in the frame before season ticket sales closed yesterday....
Spurs forum going mental about it.

Haha. You love to see it. He's played this really really badly. Was the most idiotic of idiotic moves to sack Poch. Replacing him with Mourinho was taking a mistake and then compounding it exponentially. Regardless of Kane, this is a big mess for him.

Spurs lack of recent titles / trophies is in inverse proportion to their unrealistic sense of expectation and entitlement. Added to basically being a selling club and it's not a hill a top manager is going to choose to die on. Realistic options are fat sam, Moyes, or the one out of chas'n dave that isn't dead.

He was definitely superior but I want to say that I don’t think there’s much of a gap between their starting XI and ours and I fear where that comparison might be at after this window

From Conte to Roberto Martinez

I have a vague memory of a Rodri back-pass in the home league game. And Rodri general struggling against the fast press. That clearly rattled Pep and the rest is history.

This points to a new central midfielder.
Dont forget the back pass against Gladbach where Ederson made an amazing save. Also being bullied by 17 year old (yes only 17) Bellingham vs Dortmund and losing possession in crucial moments. I remember a back pass vs PSG too but they weren't able to convert. He has Busquets like characteristics, but somehow, in the league and especially the UCL he has always been a bit shakey for us.
