Political relations between UK-EU

Watched a report the other day of an Australian farmer who basically said the deal was excellent for them and good for the UK as we’d still be able to get our expensive cuts for the those who could afford it.

She seemed very happy with the deal.

Good for us because we get cheap growth hormone injected meat which is currently illegal in the UK which has also been produced to welfare standards lower than ours - all of which this shower "promised" would not happen.

Great for her as she can sell to us now tariff free with no restrictions?

No mention of British farming then? How good will it be for them?

That was mentioned alongside selling expensive cuts to those that could afford them.

Food and Drink Federation says exports to the EU down 47% in Q1 compared to last year. One gin distiller's entire turnover is down 30%.

Not arsed. The sooner the country is on its knees the sooner Brexiteers will realise it was a mistake (mind you they will go through a process of blaming the ''unpatriotic'' Remainers first). The sooner they realise it was a mistake the quicker we will get action to correct this farce.

Didn't we have four years of the referendum winners saying Remainers were in denial?

Leavers are obviously in denial now. Unless they are in the camp of "we always knew it would be a shitshow but it's our shitshow", in which case you'd question their idea of patriotism and how they love their country.

They don’t love their country- they love brexit.

If you decimate the EU export market you can then produce graphs and statistics which say how much more of your exports are going to non-EU countries. QED Brexit has been brilliant……..

Food and drink exports outside the EU not much changed, so the halving of EU exports equates to an overall drop of about 28%.

Its NOT EU red tape its 3rd country rules being applied as it is on every item exported into the EU

WTO rules. I was exasperated as fuck whenever I heard a brexit supporter talk their bollocks about unelected EU eurocrats imposing their will on us in an undemocratic way. It was insane as saying Westminster based civil servants impose their rules on us without due democratic process.

The EU protects it's interests with rules we were at the vanguard of implementing when we were members. We have left, the grace periods are coming to an end, and the realities of leaving will slowly, but steadily, become clear.

We have no one to blame but ourselves. The rabid right wing press can chunter on about the hateful EUSSR all they like, but it's a self imposed mistake we have made.

WTO rules are coming after the grace periods end. I've not heard one brexiteer explain what those rules mean. It's just a wishy washy mishmash of stopping illegal immigrants without any recognition or understanding of what 3rd country status means, and we can't stop the boats coming anyway.

It is what it is, and it's a shitshow of bullshit, lies and deceit.

In ten days it could look so different - it will still be the EU's fault of course
