Political relations between UK-EU

It’s not, it’s down to AZ, that’s why there isn’t a similar argument with Pfizer.

We really really don’t want EU production facilities for the EU, U.K. for U.K. etc. We’d be fucked already if everyone did that.

It‘s going to be a long night...

The Beeb were reporting that the EU is/was considering blocking Pfizer vaccines into the UK too, not sure if that’s been quashed or it was a general thought, rather than serious political policy.

Yeah, your position of defending the EU at all costs is getting its arse handed to it.

The amount of remain voters in the off topic thread, who never come in here, slagging the EU off, was very telling earlier.

“I voted remain but the EU are wankers” or similar to that was posted loads.

This is the equivalent of defending UEFA after City’s court case.

It's the perfect 'opportunity' (for want of a better word) for them to rightfully criticise the EU's actions and show to other's that they aren't just EU fanboys.

As you say, it is very telling and kudos to the ones who have done because we're all together in the criticism of this action. I'd say it's laughable but this situation isn't funny at all and do hope that common sense prevails, the EU holds its hands up and rescinds the invocation of A16.

It’s like being Duncan castles, rob harris and Miguel delooney all in one!

So a company makes a vaccine for zero profit during a global pandemic And the EU thinks now is the best time to pick a fight with them and go all guns blazing?
I can only imagine the calls for Boris to resign if this was the other way round.
Sounds to me like the EU has dithered over the approval, while also trying to discredit this vaccines effectiveness, delayed procurement and now thinks the best way out is to make the whole situation worse with a diplomatic war
Couldn’t make it up
Short of vic and bob criticising them it couldn’t get any worse.
Especially when the AZ vaccine is estimated to cost only £3 per dose, compared to £15 for the Pfizer one and £25 for the other one

By defending do you mean posts like this in response to the Export Transparency measure?

No idea to be honest, it smacks of a panic move and the desire to be seen doing something. Short sighted in my opinion.’

Or predicting that invoking Article 16 would be binned by 10pm because it was a dumb?

See, if you just stick to the facts we wouldn’t need to have these little chats.
