Harry Kane

'His last season is already better than Kane's peak'.

Not true.

In terms of goalscoring, he's already equalled it.

And, before anyone says the Prem is better than the Bundesliga, he's already beaten Kane's record for goals in a Champions League season. He also equalled Kane's best in that competition while he was still a teenager at Salzburg.

Wasn't Kane top scorer and assiter this season? How is it past his peak?

He's not a pretty footballer by any stretch, but someone relentlessly putting away half chances and penalties is what we need.

Players of his ilk Drogba, Ibra, Lewandowski, Benzema tend to get better as they get to 30 as they don't rely on pace
His body looks past his peak, like Sergio’s.
Still a very good goal scorer, but his all round game is past it’s peak.

Peaking in terms of stats is irrelevant to peaking in terms of a player. Again, just a forced argument. He is a much better player now than he was 4 years ago.

You are absolutely right tbf, it is a bit of a daft arguement.

I disagree that he is better now than under poch, but that is maybe subjective.

He was in a much better team under Poch, it should be noted. That Spurs side that finished 2nd in 16/17 with 86 points, 4 losses and a +60 GD was very good indeed.

But the Prem is better than the Bundesliga. Also, the CL is like international records, it's all about the opposition.

Right but the only person who compares to him in that league is Lewandowski. At Haaland's age, he wasn't bagging anywhere near as many. In fact, other than his last two freakish seasons, Lewandowski has only bettered Haaland's output twice and that's when playing for a far superior team.

Also, the CL is like international records, it's all about the opposition.

Absolutely. But Haaland still outscored Kane in Europe last season whilst Kane was playing the likes of Ludogorets and Antwerp.

To be clear, I'm not trying to slag off Kane. I'm just saying Haaland's goal tallies have been ridiculous.

Based on 3 England games but he looked the same 3 years ago at the World Cup. Looked absolutely fine a couple of months ago for Spurs

So not happening then?
It's Levy on the other end of negotiations. He'll drag negotiations on and on - hoping for a possibly better offer. Meanwhile the transfer window ticks on and on and we still haven't signed a replacement for Aguero.

Fuck that.

Make Levy a final take-it-or-leave-it offer - and move on when Levy predictably refuses the offer.

Like I said earlier.

We will want a "reasonable" price (100m), and Spurs will hold onto their "unrealistic" price (150m) to not lose face, and City will not give in due to the covid market.

This transfer is off. City are definitely looking at other options, as I don't think they buy nobody and I doubt Grealish (which feels more likely) or any other player as the false 9 will persist next season.

Off, really? We have over 9 weeks left in the transfer window.

The only way I see this happening at that price is if we use someone like Sterling as part of the deal.
Thats very presumptious - Sterlign has a contract and no way he wants to step down to a club that inat even challenging for cup comps let along CL places
