Keir Starmer

Makes most of the last few pages redundant.

Maybe Liar Johnson has out-charismaed himself with saying that talking about people dying meant Starmer was in a Westminster bubble. (After last week's tone deaf performance, calling Starmer's questions about the rape statistics "jabber".)

Hoist by his own soundbites.

A good night for Starmer

Labour hold Batley and Spen fairly comfortably.
Are you being sardonic?

A reduction in the majoriy by 3000 and getting through by just over 300 vote isn't comfortably imho

However it keeps the wolves from the door a while longer.

The bigger worry is over 8000 people in B&S were willing to vote for that dickhead galloway, though it probably saved labour as he will have took tory votes as well as labours

How will he have taken Tory votes? Unless you think Batley's Tory voters are so thick that they voted for Galloway to get "Starmer out".

What are you on about, how you read that into my post is beyond me.

Labours vote down 7%
Tories down 1.6%

Both have been attributed to prople choosing to vote the workers party, so for any labour vote lost to galloway some tory ones were too, that fine line will have slightly impacted both parties and so tory voted lost to him helped labour get a small majority.

Never said or speculated people voted to gallowway to get starmer out, not even crossed my mind, if I had thought that way, the tory vote comment wouldn't be necessary or even be part of my comments.

Congratulations Kim, tight but I'm so pleased as a labour win
Labour: 13,296
Conservative: 12,973
Workers Party: 8,264
Lib Dem: 1,254

Did you not know Galloway's main pitch was "Starmer out"?

So Tory voters voted for the Palestinian flag waving Galloway to get Labour to change its leader? Does not compute.

It's a bad result for the Tories as they did not pick up the Brexit voters (8000 last election voting for Brexit Party or the "heavy woollen independents" aka UKIP). If they saw the Brexity Galloway as better than the Tories, that is not good for the Tories.

Labour could start a samisdat "Tories not Brexity enough" party to take Tory votes.

Again I am not arsed or on about galloways agenda and purpose, and was not even part of my reply to Rascal

I just pointed out that some of the 8000+ were people who once deciding to not vote labour would have more likely switched to the tory party as we have seen across the north and midlands, but due to the workers party presence didn't, so potential tory votes lost alongsode lost labpur votes.

I never said traditional tory voters in B&S voted for galloway.

On a side note anyone who would base their vote on the presence of a palestinian flag either in a pro or anti stance is really quite sad an individual in my opinion, but tgat is adifferent debate not necessary to the starmer thread

It was a.good night considering the Tories were 1/10 to win it and no one thought Labour were going to come out on top. Regarding Torys getting Galloways votes when a majority of these were interviewed they categorically said never.

Nailed it. Having watched some more interviews of her, she does across pretty much as described by @west didsblue, but people make assumptions about her based on her voice and mistake her assertive and passionate defence of her beliefs and party policy for rudeness.

Hopefully some time in the future this stuff won't be a barrier but because it currently is, she shouldn't be labour leader.
As Shadow Education Secretary I was disappointed Labour couldn’t choose an MP capable of knowing how to use was / were correctly. She’s an absolute liability.

I never said tory voters voted for him, is it that hard to understand.

I said he took votes away form labour and in the semse of the tories, voters that may have turned to them

i wondered how much the majority was reduced, BBC breakfast conspicuously left this little detail out of their reporting. Hardly a massive endorsement of Starmer. I suspect the result means Labour will struggle along a bit longer with him in charge before he is sacked than they would have if the Tories had won by 300.

I doubt very much he got too many tory votes. Galloway was purely going for the islamic labour vote, same as did round us (apparently his bellend bus was out and about there too, with his oh so big and hard "election helpers". mega ****).

She has a limited vocabulary and her mannerisms don't show her in her best light. I've never been her biggest fan, but as I said I have watched her in interviews and she does come across better than some would assume.
