Erling Haaland

This guy is the only signing we need to get!
But if Sir Pep says no then so be it.
Doubt Pep would be overly arsed if he didn’t get his top target but we got him a top notch striker instead, like the Dias situation.
If we get him someone like Sturridge we might have a problem : )

It’s probably nonsense but what if Dortmund were to pay Riola handsomely this summer to get his client to sign a new deal without a release clause next summer - he can go but there will be an auction and you can have a cut of the extra we make above the present release clause? Unlikely but not impossible.
No chance. They’d be open to Dortmund deciding not to sell him. They’re already guaranteed a bidding war next season where everyone can afford him and the agent can make whatever demands he wants in terms of his fees, wages etc

Sky wankers
Scum Chelsea Madrid Barcelona all interested.
City not a peep
Barca and Madrid guffaw, wonder if anybody around this piece of fantastic journalism asked themselves where either would find the cash. Shithouse reporters just doing the usual. I wonder if anyone called in and asked them when the reporting unit were breaking up for school holidays.

Maybe Sky ought to run a report or two on the Barca money problems or the future for these clubs and Juve with their positioning on the super duper Lge and the potential for a two year chumps Lge ban?

As long as we have an Aguero replacement striker in place before the first week in August.

Despite reported noises that City are saying money is tight, I’m strongly of the belief that a very acceptable Sergio replacement will heading our way pretty soon.

Patience is a great virtue.

Anyone think that Haaland needs to look at the example Messi has set by agreeing to take a more realistic wage (reportedly 50% cut from previous deal) to play where he wants to.

Surely once you start earning £100k per week any more than that is just superfluous and being happy at a well run club is more important than the size of your bank account?

In Haaland's shoes I would try to get Dortmund to allow me to leave this season for a decent premium above the buyout clause and the choose the club which offers the best sporting opportunity.

City would rate very highly in those stakes given the quality of coach, team-mates and stability of the club. He should look at Alexis Sanchez as an example of prioritising money over other factors.

Chelsea and City both very well run clubs though. Sure, Chelsea have been a bit more volatile, but they've won everything in the last 10 years.

Messi and setting an example on wages?

You have to be jesting, a 5 year deal on '1/2 money' for a 34 yr old?

When you say it like that it does seem daft offering him five years but taking a 50% drop does show some perspective.

he has taken no pay cut, smoke and mirrors to avoid issues with the Spanish FA

Barca will still be paying the little guy long after he has hung up his boots.

Footballers are human, someone offers crazy wages to Haaland he is going to take them, he would be a fool not to and if you were in his position you would do the same.

No. There’s barely any relevance.

In comparative terms, the other two are pantomime dames.

Haaland‘s in the driving seat. He will join a club that both pays a huge wage and suits his career plan, whether that‘s now or this time next year.

And, if he continues to develop, he’ll have another similar opportunity in three or four years time.

Messi really does bring a tear to the eye with how he's giving back to Barca. Not sure how he's going to cope on just £60m a season for the next five years. Hope there's a local food bank.

Haaland is available to join many of the top clubs in Europe, it's not like he's going to the Chinese super league for a few extra quid. I'm sure he won't just take the money regardless, but if Chelsea offer £100k a week more than Madrid, why would you turn that down? He could have a career ending injury in his first match.

Unreal disrespect to Gundo and Mahrez…
Not at all I love both players, I'm picking what I believe would be a deadly starting 11. I rate Torres very highly and prefer Rodri in the defensive midfield position to Rodri. I love Foden and would always have him and KDB in the starting 11. As you and I well know it's a squad game and I'd love to see that starting 11, absolutely no disrespect intended but it's easy to criticise, isn't it.

May I ask specifically what you don't like about this starting 11?
