Jack Grealish

This quote sums up Villa fans perfectly for me:

"he’s not the hero we all thought he was move on, the club is bigger than any player support the club not the players utv"

They call him a hero until the moment he dares... move to another club. Then they turn on him. They genuinely believe anyone who doesn't want to play for them for their whole career isn't worthy of their respect. Delusional arrogant fuckers.

You won't see any of this from us, not whether it's Agüero, Touré, Kompany, Silva, Bernardo, anyone.
Jack Grealish is the closest thing to a girlfriend some of those Villa fans will get. :)

I’ve got quite a few united fan mates who all of a sudden don’t love or follow football as much. Nothing to do with their team no longer being the dominate force and competing for the top trophies anymore. Funny that. You seem decent enough. Not your standard gobshite and know your stuff, United have made two good signings and bang you’re on a rival teams forum. That fire is back in your belly. Enjoy it, until about January time when it comes crashing down again.
rag shirts back out on the streets again.

I know a lot of folks here want to cling onto some kind of rivalry between our clubs, as indicative of the ''likes'' here. United fans I know from the 80's do not care. There is no rivalry. It's a fiber glass rivalry, it's allowed to pilfer and foment on match days, but for the rest of the year Manchester has become a hub of cosmopolitan globalism. Anyone that experienced any kind of rivalry are refugees in different counties now. When I hear our fans talk about ''we''. We are not part of our clubs. That was proven during the pandemic when both of our clubs had rocketed revenues and net gains. It doesn't matter anymore. Of course I appreciate the novelty of us vs them. It doesn't work like that anymore. Football has become pro-wrestling. I hold no grudge against my neighbor. Red or Sky Blue. I'll probably sign off with this post. When we're being told to obey by the state, and to watch our teles with our sky subscriptions, I can't help but feel like our ''rivalry'' is being manipulated to distract us from the real problems.
Stop fuckin bluffing. You are on Bluemoon looking at who we are supposed to be signing. You are well excited for this season after a couple of cracking signings but don’t want to set yourself for the inevitable Ole meltdown

You use a lot of words to say you don't like Utd not being top dogs anymore

so many pages its hard to find but... how do we know the bid is 100m given neither club is apparently commenting? and also all the talk of us raising nigh on 100m in academy sales, i've not managed to add them up to that so i must be missing something. Is there a this summers sales summary thread somewhere?

I don't think he'd have made it, he'd be a couple of divisions lower.
There are a lot of players of that era that I don't think would have got away with it today.

The likes of Robson and Whiteside at the rags, great players then but utter pissheads, Peter Reid and Richard Dunne with us, top players but what would they have been like if dedicated pro's?

As far as his coaching acumin and talent. He's very much a novice and has choked on more than one occasion. As far as reneging the squad and developing a sense of normalcy on the training ground. He has done better than most. He seems to have a high emotional IQ but has never really developed a playing style or vision fit for a team like United. Do I think he is our long time boss? I don't know. I'm not nostradamus. He has cleared out a lot of shite from our previous failures. As far as protests, all depends on transfers and how we start in August, which shows just how fickle football fans really are. I'm not emotionally invested in football as I used to be. I don't have it in me anymore. I know what the league and it's sponsors want our league to be. I guess all the success growing up blinded me from that fact. Even with City fans I knew growing up, there is nothing there in terms of rivalry anymore.

I championed Foden during the Euros to all my pals, I was his biggest fan because I know how rare it is for a lad like that to be where he is now growing up around Manchester. Says it all really.
You're not invested in football as you once was?

Yet you are invested enough to come on another club board and question a potential future signing for that said club?

Either your lying or you started to get giddy over the signings of Sancho and Varane and started to think you might have a chance at the league and then we've started to make moves in the market and you've absolutely shit your pants

As Le Tissier has been brought up... Were any other top sides in for him other than Chelsea?

My memory is a pretty faded on what his overall ability was that I wonder if he was actually all that. His legacy is basically that he stayed with Southampton his whole career and scored lots and lots of goal of the season contenders.
Blackburn were the ones in for him at the time. He was always linked with them. They were the top side at the time I suppose
