Harry Kane

I’d disagree. Kev and any other player would be looking at the deal and asking wheres they’re wage increase? Dangerous game playing that wage. It’s one thing paying Kane money in transfer fee but to break the wage structure completely would be dangerous in my opinion.
I’d be telling them to mind their fucking business as it’s fuck all to do with them and if they fancy chancing their arm elsewhere to pick up that wage then good luck to them with the length of time left on their contract.

It’s no business of theirs how it’s split (wages/fee) or how clever Haaland’s team were with the release clause.

I think we’ll finish 3rd or 4th if we don’t sign Kane. Not because of that alone but due to other factors as well.

It’s hard to retain the title and you need to be absolutely brilliant to do it with several other strong teams in the running these days.

There’s often that 5% drop off after winning the title that is the difference between winning it and not winning it the year after. It was those amazing 14 wins in a row, where any dropped points would have meant 2nd, that got us over the line the last time we retained.

On top of that drop off, team’s will also be more used to us playing without a centre forward, Liverpool have major players back from injury, Chelsea have signed a top striker and United are stronger than they’ve been since Ferguson retired.

Kane would give us that boost and allow us to mix things up from last season. His goals could be the difference between frustrating draws and close by a whisker wins.

Jesus isn't playing as a striker, so when posters say there might not be another striker available that impoves us they probably mean improves the team, not improves individuals. As it's the team that matters, if the club don't see an option that improves the team is available then that's what it is. They obviously think Kane improves the team, and unless they have an alternative we don't know about then they think nobody else available improves the team otherwise they would buy

I'll say K4ne.
K9 ..rough rough !:))

For what it's worth I don't agree with this, and I don't think the club do either or they'd have just paid the money by now.
You mean like the time we just paid the 75m for Van Dijk, or the 80m for Maguire when we was trying to replace Vinnie?
The club have shown a few times they no longer just pay whatever. Same with Jorginho.
Even with our deep pockets and no matter how much we want a player we will walk away if its too expensive.
I saw previously you defending Jesus's stats, but the fact he starts only 20 odd games a season should tell you how much Guardiola trusts him.

Still think we win the League without kane with him it's by how many points. Utd and dippers squads are not good enough plus AFCON will affect the dippers also think Chelsea will have a bad patch plus numerous cup games where there squad will get stretched.

We don't sign a striker, we don't win the league. Everyone is stronger. Last season Liverpool had constant cb injuries, Chelsea didn't have a good coach, now they have Tuchel and Lukaku. Lukaku scores for fun against the teams Chelsea struggled against last season thats extra points for them.

Pep probably knows this you can see he's pissed from what he said last night, he wants a striker.

This transfer has been extremely frustrating, I wonder if we are frustrated how Txiki and Omar are feeling.

Khaldoon, put an aggressive marker down before the window. I believe he is a smart man with great acumen. He wouldn’t have been that bullish with out knowing the extent to which we can spend on Kane.

Part of me thinks he won’t be wanting to be seen as the one ‘who lost out’, and will get this across the line.
But also, he has been known to walk away when figures get unrealistic, aka Sanchez deal…

I am nervous, and really concerned we will end up with out a striker and having put all our eggs in the Kane basket, knowing how Levy is, Kane having 3 years on existing deal with Spurs had no Plan B.

when I look at Chelsea’s business it just seems to go smoother, when ever they do deals in general bang take the cash, player presented and off he goes playing.

I have a feeling we will get this done eventually, squeeky bum time come
Deadline day, we haven’t been involved on deadline day for years…. So will be a change for us….

ps: Really stupid of Levy not to take the cash and use the window to build the squad like Villa. What a numpty!!

come on City!!
#matteroffaith ;)
Sanchez was different. That was a player moving the goalposts to such a degree it was a joke

Players and their numbers don't increase shirt sales, and of the few across history that do load of them changed shirt numbers when they moved (Beckham, Messi, Kaka, Brazilian Ronaldo etc) There's only so many ways to say this. Additionally, if it was so important Kane would be the England number 10, he's not. It would be all over his social media, it's not. It's bollocks. Kit manufacturers don't designate shirt numbers, so that point is moot as well. Finally, City's number 10 shirt is not particularly "iconic" either.
What's the most common number fans choose when they buy a football shirt with their own name on the back?

It isn't about being figured out or anything like that. I just think that the false 9 is not a forever solution in the same way that Fernandinho as your 4th choice CB wasn't a forever solution. There are knock on effects to the false 9 in the same way that there were knock on effects to using Ferna as a CB. For one I think the false 9 has put too much pressure on Mahrez/Sterling to be not only creators, but scorers in big/tight moments where normally you'd be looking at your 9.

I'm still somewhat hopeful though that they'll get Kane over the line, and even if they don't I expect we will have what it takes to be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. But it won't change my opinion of the window and it'll be all the more interesting to see who they choose to target next summer.

Aside from the added pressure, it's beneficial to have options and alternative styles in tight matches and/or when we are behind.

I‘m probably not in the subset of people you’d want to survey on this, but I only did it once. I was about 8. I picked 7 because of David White.

I guess what we can take out of that is that the kids will pick their favourite player’s number, if I am “normal” lol
