Harry Kane

Never saw a match with my Granddad, he died in 1977. Still miss him. I wonder what the old fellas would have made of it all.
My Dad had followed City home and away since the forties and witnessed a lot of shite in that time. He always said that we needed an Arab to take us over, his words not mine, he also said that he wasn’t looking forward to moving to the news stadium which In 1998 had just been started to be built. He was right about the first bit but wrong about moving as without it we wouldn’t have been taken over. He would have loved the new ground, and as he used to walk everywhere he’d had been at the new stadium everyday. City was his life.

We offered a revised proposal on Friday night mate, following the meeting on Thursday. That’s been accepted today.

All the major papers are saying today that we are prepping a take it or leave it offer to Spurs.
its been accepted? thanks for the good news mattyb :) now over to spurs

I beg to differ. First, Dias cured a long-standing and glaring defensive weakness. Not just directly but also by his stabilising effect on colleagues. Second, he has has years ahead of him, arguably as club captain for a number of them.

It‘s easy to forget how easily our defence used to get roasted on the break, to such an extent that CD - not striker - was our priority a year ago.
Easy to say this with hindsight. But overall consensus of fans was Koulibaly was the one we needed. Then it was Kounde. Then (reluctantly from many) it was Dias (mixed initial response to his signing). We have no way of knowing the other 2 wouldn’t have had a similar effect as Dias.

However Kane is in a special class of striker and no others of his quality are available and want to come here.

If we replace him with a young project alternative, that completely changes our direction and style vs with him.

The thing people tend to forget about Dzeko(and this is not a knock), he blew very hot and cold when he went on one of his runs he was pretty much unplayable(Spurs away springs to mind). Jesus you tend to know what your going to get from him.
Pretty much. Love Dzeko and his time with us, but can remember there were times when he was just frustrating to watch.

As a kfa, my views are of zero weight, but, it seems Pep does not pursue one-trick ponies. An out-and-striker or "goal-hanger" as they used to be called, would be a first, imo, even our keeper is dual purpose. A move that ends with a pass into the net is a Pep dream, which we have achieved many times but getting rare, in fact goals have become rare at times. A further issue is being able to maintain a high press for 90 minutes, which introduces age into the discussion. Life was simpler when we had a speed-merchant on both wings and a world class finisher, with a world-class play-maker conducting the orchestra. Seems a long long time ago now. If we sign anyone, he will have to tick most of the boxes to meet Pep's criteria, imho, not sure HK does.

Positive news at last, but spurs we have still to agree a fee with hopefully khaldoon will be on the blower to levy reminding him that city have friends in high places, and they need money to service certain debts accrued..

Not sure who it was (may have been Gary Cook) but someone described Dzeko as scoring "heavy goals" in the moments that really mattered. That's a great turn of phrase.

You didn't watch Kane last season then? His dropping deep to join in the play is the main reason that Pep is so focused on getting Kane and only Kane.

Surely the fact it seems to be Kane or nothing suggests he does tick all Peps boxes.

The telegraph are reporting Spurs are trying to take Adama on loan from Wolves! So they can't afford to buy him outright but they can afford to turn down £120m from City for Kane haha.
I am sure we could afford adama on loan
Time to enquire
That should make levy pick up his phone

Have to disagree with you mate hes no one trick pony he was top goal scorer and top assister last season in the leauge and like others will say the way he drops deeps to create attacks is what Pep loves

Not necessarily good news , one seems to be about losing someone
