Hopefully in Jan we will all see why we only signed Grealish, who is a good replacement for D. Silva & meant we were prepared if a suitable offer for B. Silva came in. IF Haaland agrees a move here for the buyout fee mooted, i'd be satisfied. Next summer a DM and LB, we are set for years.

Imagine if your bonus depends on profit and you made a massive loss last year you get nothing.
This year surely save as much as you can in profit column to ensure bonuses.
TH told us many of City staff are not even football supporters never mind City fans.
I know what I would do in their position lol.

I agree with you, the negativity has been disappointing, some of our fans sound spoiled brats, In my opinion we now have the best squad in our history, we have some really promising kids as you have suggested and Torres could well be one of our best ever buys.

It is a 100% fair comment. Worked out like so, and the agression towards the suggestion back then was uncalled for.

We are blessed to have had such good times. Of course, two of those players became club legends and 2 not, one having not worked out at all. I think this shows that, despite the best of intentions, club recruitment is not an infallible process.

Whilst this sounds exciting, I don have to wonder what life will be like post Pep. Not many other managers utilise a false 9 and we’ll have a gaping hole there. We can, of course, buy a 9 then, but our other players will have to learn how to play with one again.

Pep led the team to win the league last year and made it clear that it needed refreshing with a couple of key signings, most importantly a striker. Khaldoon reiterated that. That they courted Kane, briefing confidence up to a week ago, and got nowhere near is worthy of criticism. As is having no back up option (see the flirtation with Ronaldo).

City will win games and play great football - possibly even win the league again. However, Pep and the club wanted a striker (Pep mentioned Kane in a couple of pressers which he rarely does), put all their eggs in Kane's basket and came out with nothing - it is worthy of criticism.

Fair dos if you understand why we didn't sign a striker, but many simply throw a strop and are keen to blame the club without having a scooby what was or did happen behind the scenes.

We just do what Barcelona did in 2014 and buy a Luis Suarez to score 200 goals in 280 games.

Most of our players have had strikers up front for 15-20 years, they won't forget it because Pep plays a false 9 for a bit.
