Guitar Thread

Don’t know much about them but my son has just told me he plans to buy one of these, already has two guitars as well.

I think John Lennon and Noel Gallagher played those Epi ones.
Lennon stripped all the stain off his, back to the bare wood.
He plays it on the final rooftop live performance they did.

Guitars are addictive little shits, there's always another one you want.

Lennon’s was an Epiphone Casino. Had one once, lovely guitar but as it’s completely hollow it has a tendency to feedback like a mofo. The Epiphone 335 won’t suffer this same problem as it has a centre block running through it, as does the Sheraton & Riviera.

I've got similar (Epiphone Dot), cool guitar............

Hey all, been trying to stay busy and keep my guitar skills up over the past 14months. With no gigs motivation has been hard to work up. I tried my hand at one of my all time favourite guitar tunes. Thought I’d throw it up here for anyone interested.

Love spreads by the Stone Roses

I'm itching for a different guitar - possibly trading in my epiphone dot and / or my Takamine 12 stringer.

Thinking caps on guys, open to inspiration (if I sold them both on that probably puts us at about £700-£750 at a guess)?

My initial thoughts were a second hand US Jazzmaster or a higher end acoustic than I already have............

Don't know how i missed this thread way back when. Have a Hummingbird, got it for about £240 a few years ago and love it, only get it out now and again if gigging but thats been a bloody while. For just dinkling about at home i use a Yamaha, may have been second hand i can't remember but great for just having a jam with. As for strings i think i differ from gauge 10-11 Daddario

Only just realised this thread existed - is there no limit to the level of enjoyment possible on a football forum .

Keep up the posts please for the sake of a frustrated and crap guitar lover ,

I've never really understood the relationship between Gibson and epiphone is it sort of like fender/squire?

I have a love/hate relationship with my Frankenstein Squire HM Strat. It's an 80's HM body with HSS setup and FR licenced trem, but strangely has a standard Squire Strat neck (bolted) with a rosewood fretboard. I bought it second hand from Dawsons in Warrington

I generally use .009's or 10's and when it is set up and in tune it plays great, but every now and again it goes out of tune for no apparent reason.

Isn't that life.....….? :-)

got a gibson thunderbird bass guitar, it's a thing of beauty. not playing it so much at the minute as i've been filling my house full of synthesizers but it's always there if needs be. play a lot of funk, and sounds incredible with the low growl of the thunderbird. there's no bass like it

it's all just for fun, but do a lot of jamming, coming up with stuff on the fly and just seeing where it goes, but i'm also working with a couple of mates on proper tunes which is going really nicely. it's dance music, but no idea what type it is. don't want to derail the thread so i'll chuck you a PM with a link to the newest one, mega happy with it.

Stop trying to be in Oasis, loads of amazing guitars for way better money pal. I always thought the humming bird was a bit lame considering you can get the SJ2000 for similar money, miles better guitar ads well. As for the action, you are prob better off getting it set up to your style, although id suggest getting someone who knows what they are doing before you mess with the bridge and truss rod set up. you could really mess it up
Depends, it might be within his capo-bility.
