Why are we accepting this as anything other than total bullshit? Why would a player tell Pep he wishes to leave for a team that everybody on the planet knows cannot offer anywhere near a decent price for him and therefore has zero chance of actually moving to? Achieves absolutely nothing and I'm not having he's thick enough to do that.

but value also depends on how much he is worth to us. He is about 40 mil for us to replace a backup. for example Kane id definitely worth closer to 150 mil for spuds. its like chelsea selling morata or tammy for 40 mil who were their backup. so 40-50 mil for torres is about the correct market value.
40-50? What planet are you on? He's 21 years old and leads Spain's attack while on a 4 year deal with relatively low wages. It should be double that.

If it’s Barcelona or Madrid most Spanish players will want to move there. If he doesn’t want to stay and makes that clear to pep we will move him on

him leading spain's attack means fuck all. our academy players would lead spain's attack the other option they have is morata. he is a squad player who is 40-50 mil worth to replace his value to our team and so that will be the deciding factor.

If Cole Palmer was banging them in for England you think he'd be worth 40m?

What planet are you living on?

Is this a WUM? No one is actually this stupid.
lets see now. who will be the subs once we buy a striker?

sterling + mahrez + Jesus/Jack for the 3 forward subs

Gundo + Ferna replacement for the 2 mid subs

lb replacement + Laporte for the 2 def subs

1 academy player

1 keeper

now tell me where you will put torres?

What is this!? I seriously can't tell if this is a wind up or just you embarrassing yourself.

What side have you been watching for the last 5 years? Are you seriously telling me you've not seen Pep rotate the players out of the squad every single week?

We have a 23 man squad now. Who do you think are the 5 players who miss the squad every week and are therefore, to use your words worth literally zero?

There are none.

so you mean to tell me torres will sometimes get on our matchday squad and sometimes he might come on for a few mins and sometimes he might make an impact and after very few useless games he will start. In the meantime his worth will go down below what we bought him for and the wages we paid him. after that he will literally be wort zero to us. its simple logic and match don't you see that?

again tell me who you will leave out from the subs? no way he is getting on that list unless we have an injury? he is worthless to us once we buy a striker and I suspect he knows that too and hence why he is open to a move

He'll play if he's good enough, and if not he'll get rotated in and out like everyone else. And he certainly isn't going to be worth less than 20m unless you've got a time machine to go back to 2011.

"Simple logic and match" lol.

I've asked you a simple question.

5 players in our current squad have to be left out.

You've said this makes them worth zero.

Who are they? I'd love to know who our 5 worthless players are.

If we sell Torres it's gotta be atleast 70m imo. I'd simply prefer we don't sell him though, Torres can definitely fit in our squad even if we buy a striker. He is for our future.

The way I see it, even with Sterling's pick up in form I see him wanting to leave.

Kdb, Gundogan and Mahrez are all 30, they don't have more than a few years left in them for our level and the end of which they will only manage to be a sub. You can already see how long it takes for them to come back from a small injury.

This leaves: Foden, Grealish, Bernie, Jesus AND Ferran as our current youngest in our 5 attacking spots.

So we can easily add a striker to that + Palmer (RW minutes) and McAtee (Midfield minutes).

My entire post was about the stupidity of telling your current employer you wish to leave to be employed by a club you know simply don't have the financial capabilities to finance the move and so will not be happening.

Doesn't really matter what he wants or the lure of the club to him, we will not be moving him on to a club that can't offer a fee that's anywhere near acceptable.

For what it's worth, if this isn't the total bullshit I suspect it is, he won't be sorely missed, but letting him go for anything less than £80 million is criminal. Young, on a lengthy contract and his stock is high, there's not a single reason why his fee shouldn't be astronomical.

He wants Barca, Barca want him.
Just a shame they haven't got a pot to piss in.
I'll be amazed if it's £42m, it'll be a loan cos everyone thinks we're a registered charity.
Till we come to buy of course then its pants down no lube.

so selling our squad player who will be useless when we buy a striker for double what we bought him for is something to be pissed off?

He's not going to be a squad player for long. He's still very young. Torres will be one of the best strikers in the world within a couple of seasons and sustain it for a good 7 or 8 years. He's good at everything.

As a point of comparison, I think he'll be better than Sane who we sold for £50m when he'd run down his contract.

£42m is nowhere near enough.
