Depends how much shit they think they can deflect from party gate.

its a strange day

the prime minister apologises for a party at number 10 , he says and claims never happened.

the WHO say the vaccines offer protection against the new variant and that the new variant is less severe than previous variants but apparently the pm is going to announce more restrictions.

You gotta love these people with no scientific education, no qualifications etc who suddenly think they know better than actual scientists. A sign of true thickness imo.
Like an idiot I argued on Facebook the other day with a skinny, tracksuit wearing bailiff from my fishing club who is unemployed, has hardly any teeth, has bad breath and sells weed on the side. He was very keen to educate me on vaccine science and knew better than the WHO.

"Its a lud ov fukin boloks" was his thesis and it was peer-reviewed by his mates Daz, Waz and Spaz through Facebook likes.

as always - its to do with hospitals being under severe pressure

Dr JS Bamrah, a consultant psychiatrist in Manchester, said NHS staff are facing “the most sustained pressure” they have ever seen in the health service and that more delays are likely to occur.

“We are still in the throes of a devastating pandemic which has affected every part of health and social care, and winter could be the last straw that could break the camel’s back unless politicians and health leaders take action. Hospitals are run at over 100 per cent capacity, and emergency services are stretched to breaking point,” he said.

There's other options too.

- you're incapable of honestly representing what scientists say
- you're incapable of coherent logical thought.

Also, "both of the above" is an option.
Naturally, I'm the only one out of us both posting the truth so neither is the correct answer.

But at least you're consistently so, likewise with me being right, so at least your wrongness brings some equilibrium.

To be fair, for every multiple of cases the severity would have have to drop by a similar amount for us to stand still in hospitalisations.
(Infectiousness causes cases to rise exponentially but cases in the UK are looking like a 2 5 weekly multiplier compared with Delta.)
Both look to be large but how large?
A 2.5 multiplier in cases if counterbalanced by by a 2.0 divisor in severity Omicron would flood our hospitals. Then there is the question of how long a hospital stay is. Currently this is currently an average of 10 days.
Will it reduce the pressure on the NHS or increase it?
Too soon to tell.

How you’ve got the patience for that I’ll never know.

This isn't the case at all.

If infectiousness doubles, the virus will grow exponentially. Cases would far more than double.

Me and the wife felt like dog shit since yesterday, took a lateral flow and was negative, but apparently if you have symptoms they will give a negative result, heard that on tv this morning! So have had pcr test done just waiting for the result, hoping it’s just a winter bug, bloody head is banging and feel like I’ve been battered. Not had my booster yet.

I know a few people that have had it and got positives from Lateral while symptomatic.

I’ve told you about arguing with @gordondaviesmoustache mate ;)

Not true at all. The UK tests far more than anyone else in the world AND Russia has had more deaths per million than us for yonks and Eastern Europe overtook us at the end of October.

How is it not true? The WHO literally called us the Epicenter in July/Aug time and we clearly had far more than EU countries up until the last few weeks even if you count more tests.

161 all settings deaths - was 171 last week

134 in England v 141 last week

51,342 cases - up 5651 on yesterday & 2968 on last Wednesday

Highest on a Wednesday since 6 January.

NB: On that day 1041 died in the UK v 161 today.

AND 31,946 were in hospital V 7337 this morning.

England only 44,019 - up 5153 on yesterday & 2500 on last Wednesday

If he is unemployed there is a vacancy in Downing street that has just opened up, obviously anybody talking rubbish will be a shoe in for advising Pinocchio Johnson
