So what you are saying is that the government are moving heaven and earth to push through tighter restrictions, and possibly lockdowns, to what end? What’s in it for them? Lost revenue, an angry population, declining popularity. Is this what they want? Do you think they are trying to piss everybody off just for a laugh?

For starters based on conversations with one of my sisters and a former work colleague fella - then just see anyone speaking at any of these anti-vax / covid denier marches

Trust me, it’s possible to have done everything that’s been asked of you so far, be triple jabbed but be at the end of your tether with government/SAGE and what I now feel are the lies and manipulation of the public by them.

Im no denier or antivaxxer, I’ve just had enough.

you were fine to the last paragraph. There are the majority who don't want a booster who simply have doubts that having jabs every 3 months when there's no concrete, conclusive need or benefit to not be worth the potential risk. The other vaccines work, by well, working. You don't get jabbed for smallpox every 3 months because it, well, works.

The reality is people who have had 3 jabs are now trying to fawn their anxious consciousness off on people who haven't because they've taken the plunge with no concrete scientific evidence to support it, so come on and try and put it on normal people to try and rationalise their decision and make themselves feel at peace with it. All in the face of another illogical lockdown they were promised wouldn't be necessary when they had the first 2 of the same jab that lasted half as long as they were promised.

We get you guys are doubtful and anxious, but you've made your choices and you're the guinea pigs for normal people who want scientific proof, and a whole lot more than last time given we were lied to.

Its like saying I had a headache 3 months ago and took paracetamol and now I have another headache - it clearly doesn't work and I am never taking it again. Just deluded. Nobody on the medical side has said as yet that any jab is fully preventative and lasts forever - its given on the understanding that more will be needed. As for guinea pigs thats a joke - smallpox TB and polio recipients were guinea pigs on that basis - if you had them as a kid then so were you. Have you had polio?

you'll infect them, yourself. Or have done already and don't even know. We can all draw arbitrary lines in the sand and use "ifs, buts and maybes" or we can wait to see what actually works, in the real world, for more than let's say...3 months.

Enjoy queuing up for the next one at the end of Jan when this one runs out. Or it works, in which case society will be cured and we'll live merrily and not have to count jabs anymore.

Yes, but Im asking the people on here - who seem hell-bent on pretending there might not be a Problem - why they think the government are acting in this way. What’s the more likely explanation:

1. We could have a big problem.
2. Let’s put the country under loads of restrictions and lose money for no reason.

Nigeria has just disposed of 1 million doses as they are out of date. They have not got the infrastructure to deliver them and that applies to most of Africa. There is no global shortage of vaccines and Serum in India have reduced production as they are getting less orders.

We could send all the supplies we have to Africa and they would end up being binned.

Not quite right that.
We (the west in general) are consistently sending vaccines over with a month or less to expiry, with those doses being sent last minute, with no planning. The 3 worst offenders for that have been ourselves, Canada and Germany.

never queued for any of them yet - all 3 very slick in and out - no bother - booked online and less of a faff on than ordering some new wheel trims for the wife's car on Amazon tonight - two of the originals popped off in a week and as they were held on with wire ties I suspect foul play

There’s been 180k positive cases in the last 48 hrs. I wouldn’t risk catching covid and ruining Christmas (because I’d have to isolate and so family couldn’t come round) just for a night out! I think it’s mad.

As illustrated by the tweet above, the “big problem” is one of the scenarios they model. Are you suggesting that if we get more restrictions, then it is as a result of a miscommunication between the government and SAGE?

I still think the most likely explanation is that the government are worried about the breakdown of the NHS. The Dutch government clearly are.
