Football is a game of opinions, I was agreeing with the poster that I'd prefer Torres in our front 3 than Grealish. It's not that I don't think Grealish is a good player, he was a very good player for Villa. But he wanted to leave and I still don't understand what Grealish has to do with it apart from you not rating him!
Nonsense, I really can't understand why so many people are belittling himSane is a great player. Torres will never be a great player. We’ve done brilliantly out of this deal.
By the same token .. I can’t understand why a lot of people rated him and think we haven’t got a good dealNonsense, I really can't understand why so many people are belittling him
Fair enough.Football is a game of opinions, I was agreeing with the poster that I'd prefer Torres in our front 3 than Grealish. It's not that I don't think Grealish is a good player, he was a very good player for Villa.
I prefer Torres and financially he makes much more sense, one player we hugely overpaid for and the other we sold on the cheap
Exactly. And it's not as though he's been here long enough to endear himself to us blues, well not me he hasn't anyway. We've received decent money for Torres and he's no longer our player, and I'm fine about that.Forgotten about his negligible contribution already
I saw little sign that he will ultimately be elite so fair enough. A couple of things I’m not entirely comfortable with but thats just my cantankerous nature:
1) he signed a contract, got injured and then asked to go. Not exactly honouring the spirit of a contract.
2) Barcelona don’t have a pot to piss in and could only buy decent players on tick. We did them a favour. I wonder if they would reciprocate if we needed.
I believe pep loves Barcelona.Lol this seems like peak football fan paranoia.
You honestly believe Pep is acting as a double agent and helping Barcelona?
As has been the case since 2013, the club has not lost 1 player we wanted to keep really. We've just sold Torres for double what we paid for him and he is a bit part player at best. Theres nothing more to the story....
It’s been widely reported that Barcelona have taken out a loan to finance this deal. We are, apparently, letting them pay in four instalments but we will be getting about £55million after add ons. That’s considerably more than the £20m we paid for him.I feel like we have been mugged off.
This deal has been put together to suit Barcelona currently "DIRE" financial situation.
They don't have a Pot to piss in.
We are actually only getting pack what we paid for him. With any Gravy on top coming from his appearances over the next few years, when Barcelona might then be a bit better off financially. To give this deal for one of Europe hottest properties at least a bit of respectability.
But we have to accept it is a bi-product of having Barcelona sycophants at the Club.
Barcelona just set a release clause of 1 Billion for him.
Who is Phil Blundell and why would anyone care what he has said?
It’s not all black and white bud. It’s no secret that our main men swear by the cule code. I didn’t say working against city but not enough fuss is kicked up when Barca show up. It’s their club and if you don’t believe they want to help then I can’t spell it out for you. Yes they work at city but the over the top adulation with anything cule is akin to the United istory fanfare.Saying 'all of our players' when it's only 2 isn't a 'figure of speech', it's just nonsense.
Who are all these Catalonians working against the club BTW?
And he doesn't 'get us'.I believe pep loves Barcelona.
and loves the ragsAnd he doesn't 'get us'.
Not sure about that. Don’t want to go full blown conspiracy nut. Half way will do ;)And he doesn't 'get us'.
