Just seen the video of Bingo supplying alcohol to the poor downtrodden masses that were worshiping outside the Liverpool coach and it got me thinking about the law on alcohol on football coaches. So I looked at the legislation;

Section 1(1) of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol) Act 1985, as amended by the Public Order Act 1986

1 Offences in connection with alcohol on coaches and trains.
(1)This section applies to a vehicle which
(a) is a public service vehicle or railway passenger vehicle, and
(b) is being used for the principal purpose of carrying passengers for the whole or part of a journey to or from a designated sporting event.
(2) A person who knowingly causes or permits intoxicating liquor to be carried on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence
(a) if the vehicle is a public service vehicle and he is the operator of the vehicle or the servant or agent of the operator, or
(b) if the vehicle is a hired vehicle and he is the person to whom it is hired or the servant or agent of that person.
(3) A person who has intoxicating liquor in his possession while on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence.
(4) A person who is drunk on a vehicle to which this section applies is guilty of an offence.
(5) In this section public service vehicle and operator have the same meaning as in the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981.

It seems to me that the Liverpool team bus is a PSV being used to carry passengers to a designated sporting event. So my reading of the law is that Bingo is guilty of an offence of having liquor in his possession whilst on the vehicle.

Anyone fancy reporting the offence to the Met Police - they've got nothing more important to investigate at the moment!!!!
Was the driver a Chelsea fan? Just asking for a mate.......

Good spot that, mate, but under section 9 of that Act ‘Interpretation‘, subsection 9(4) provides that the period of a designated sporting event ceases one hour after the end of the event. The beer was provided after the game, not before. It’s difficult to imagine a PL team coach leaving within 60 minutes of full time, especially with all the requisite media obligations at play today - and so I would say no offence as you allege could be made out. For someone to prove that offence they would need to make sure that Klopp knew that beer was on the coach within an hour of full time. That’s almost impossible to prove in the absence of any supporting eyewitness accounts.

What’s also worth noting is that Act was tellingly enacted on 25th July 1985, less than two months after Heysel.
GDM was that the Act that allowed Thatcher et al to sell off the family silver?

Numerous Bluemoon members simply hate everything Liverpool with a passion. In spite of reason otherwise.

The truth is - Klopp is a world-class, top-talent manager and Liverpool would be nowhere near where they are without his stewardship.

Moreover, the USA owners of LIverpool - Fenway Sports Group - have done an amazing job at managing Liverpool. Contrast this with the abject effort put forth by the Glazers.

At any rate - I respect current Liverpool ownership and Klopp. Yes - some of the Liverpool fans are criminals who should be in jail - and yes - it seems to me that Liverpool ownership could do more to curtail their hooligan behavior.
Ahem ‘behavior’.
Please behave and when you get there , behave again.

Spot on @kaz7 ...I do. When I first landed here I loved the whole conspiracy theory mantra that appeared to be everywhere. I said it before and still say it now, that I do chuckle at some of the stuff that is posted here...pretty much the same way as "you lot" chuckle at so much of what is posted on RAWK.

That said and in amongst the banter there are common sense views that you cannot disagree with and I also come here for those. As I have said before, I don't want to be fed and have to listen to the same views I may have. I want to be challenged and made to think.
Avoid downstairs political forum if I was you then.

:)

City fans don't hate Liverpool because they are rubbish. They hate Liverpool because they are a threat, and not just on the pitch. Their owners set out to destroy MCFC, and their fans eagerly follow them.

I will rate Klopp if and when he rebuilds LFC a 2nd time - which he is shortly going to be forced to do. The first time can be put down to the transfers of Van Dijk and Salah. Salah was a lucky punt imo. There's no way they can have known that he would be the success he has been.

This will be the Dippers last title challenge , if you can call it that , they have an ageing team with at least eight of their mainstay players approaching their 30's , it all depends it Clubshop has the stomach to re-build another team and if their bloodsucking Yank owners will throw him a few quid to buy players. Dotn expect either of these to happen and Klippety will buggering off when he realises catching our lcub is becoming a thankless task.
Would like to thank clubshop for at least keeping us on our toes for the last few seasons , but there has to be a limit on how many times you can polish a turd.

I don’t dislike them because they’re a threat, I dislike them because they are all, club and fans, insufferable cunts. Nothing more.
