But Liverpool don't operate with a central striker like Kane or Lewandowski either and it seems to work for them as well.

I think it’s by situation not by design, they certainly made advances towards Kane in the summer. It didn’t materialise and Pep has had to make it work with the personnel he has available. It’s working at the moment but I don’t think it’s sustainable, if he does manage to pull off back to back titles playing that way it’s some achievement.

Luis Diaz is annoyingly a very good signing. He's another goalscoring winger but wouldn't shock me if it was the end of Salah or Mane.
Good signing but nowhere near the level of Salah, so if that's the case they would be weaker in the short term.

Looks like they about to sign the world greatest winger with the name Diaz.

Scousers in the media are holding of the vinegar stroke until they see him wearing a dipper shirt whilst singing YNWA.

I think this is a little premature and a touch naïve.

They have some experienced players heading towards the latter part of their careers, but they still have a lot to offer at this level.

As mentioned, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson are top class in their respective positions and if remaining injury free, have years of playing time left. Tsimikas, he looks as good, if not better than Robertson.

Alisson, along with Ederson are the two best keepers in the world and that Kelleher could play for most Premier League teams.

van Dijk is solid at the back. Matip always gives me the impression of Bambi On Ice......but is deceptively effective. Their new signing from Germany is only young, but looks a real prospect for the future.

Salah, Mane and Jota, supported by Firmino sometimes run a bit hot or cold, but when hot they can be goal machines.

Midfield seems to be a weaker area for them. Milner is getting on and having less game time. Henderson is a decent, but average sort. Fabinho is one of the best around for that position. Thiago looked a good signing, but doesn't seem to play much and Keita shows real brilliance at times.

"they have an ageing team".....but they also have a lot of promising younger players coming through. Jones will make it, but I think he's a bit full of his own importance at present. Elliot looked a top class player in the making until his injury. Morton and Gordon look like they should be able to break through as well outside of cup games.

They'll buy and strengthen again, and although they don't splash big, they do buy and sell shrewdly. I think Robertson cost less than ten million. They have the patience to wait for the right player, as in van Dijk and will spend if required, with Alisson for instance. They won't blow money on names like Mbappe or Harlaad, but might if they met all the criteria. It seems to me that they operate as a team, as a 'collective', and although a player may have outstanding abilities, he would have to tick all the boxes, both on the pitch and off it before an effort was made to sign.

Very different to the boys in red across the road and you can see how they have fared with that approach. Pretty Boy may still retain a lot of ability, but he doesn't fit the team........mind you, he does help sell shirts, although as far as I am aware, I don't believe shirt sales equal trophies.

The owners have a business plan and Klopp knew that when he took the job on. To say that he's only building for today is ridiculous and clearly not evident, the biggest concern I can see is down the road and who takes over from him.

If he progresses as he is and does well with Villa, then it will probably be Gerrard. However, he won't get the job by right, he'll have to prove himself and earn it.
You don't become successful businessmen based on sentiment.

Just admit you’re a Liverpool fan so we can move on.

Apologies if this one's been done but I read one of those Aldridge pieces the other day with the city have a bottomless pit theme and to back it up he went back 6 years or so to when Eddie was bought ostensibly to replace Claudio. Well Claudio kept playing in the cups anyway but I seem to recall Liverpool kicking their signing Karius out of the club after the champions League and breaking the world record for a new keeper. What a joke they are .

Liverpool's ownership have structured their finances such that they have low amortization and high, high wages. The problem with this approach is time, that is to say, aging. Sooner or later they'll have to make acquisitions, but that would cut into the owner's dividends so don't see it happening until big wage earners are off the books.

Their best team in the PL era will age out and the ownership can't be bothered.

You are forgetting that he is also required to say....
"Apoyé al Liverpool cuando era niño"

Then there will be the huge sigh and tissue sales will go through the roof in Norway/Ireland

Arrogance in the extreme.

Sadly when they buy a player they usually get it right, if they get in Diaz he is a top quality player.

Liverpool are going nowhere.
Minimoto & Keita are just two failures costing around £60m i can think of , not arrogance at all , the Dippers peaked and are on the decline there will be other challengers , no doubt.

None of the young players you mention have achieved anything and have shown no signs of making the grade , the Dippers will also never be in the frame for an Mbappe or Halland pure fantasy , they re Yank owners would never sanction any salary over £350k a week , hence why Salah's contract is becoming an issue.
Not really interested in what the Rags are doing because they are lightyears away , all though they do provide amusement .........................Dipper fans are more interested in the Rags than us, because they are like two peas in a pod looking forlony back at their 'istree with a tear in their eye.
