Id like to see him go on loan. I think it would do him good.
No Swansea or Rangers would be fine. Not to Girona though.
Then Pep should have been giving him at least a little game time when matches were already won.The last thing we need is a player that can provide cover in emergency situations leaving on loan
Scottish football is dire and the surfaces they play on are equally as bad. He needs to be loaned to a English Championship side who play decent football on a good surface. Forest or similar would be ideal. If he must go on loan, then Rangers would be the best of those three options. Rangers are a huge club with a must win every game mentality, so there’s huge pressure to succeed, and Celtic’s push this season will mean it remains competitive to the end. Question is whether he can step up to be sufficiently involved to make such a loan meaningful.
The standard of Championship football is hardly any better at times- try watching Gomes at Barnsley! :-)Scottish football is dire and the surfaces they play on are equally as bad. Why would they remove Mendy ? he is still registered with the club ?I did the stadium tour at the weekend. It was quite interesting to see who's shirts were hanging up in the first team dressing room, particularly in the seats that have no name printed above yet.
Delap, Palmer and Lavia shirts were all in there. No McAtee (yet) but they've still not removed Torres or Mendy, so hopefully he'll get one of their spots.
McAtee has 3 minutes of PL gametime given this season and further two sub opportunities, 24 minutes last FA Cup game vs Swindon and 12 minutes vs Wycombe in the very first Carabao game we had.
Total of 39 minutes, mostly vs League Two teams.
This aint a break through season for him, far from it, and as stakes only getting higher next 4 months doubt he will gain more gametime.
Fulham could be the last game he gets selected probably and then if we manage to win the league 3-4 rounds before the end we might give some more game time to him in the very end.
But to me he could really benefit from 90 minutes each week on loan either Champo or Rangers.
Chelsea did have a whole line of 18-20 yeard olds who did go on loan and did benefit from playing 1-1.5 season in Champsionship, likes of Abraham, Mount, Reece James, Loftus Cheek, and couple more they just sold for good money like Guehi (20m to Palace), Tomori (25m to Milan) etc.
They are all decent players, some of them squad players, some are starters but being part of top league squads easily.
Mount and Reece James probably have a long career at Chelsea and Mount was sent for 1 full season to Vitesse at 18, then 1 full year at Derby under Lampard...
Reece James started 44 league games for Wigan when he was 18/19 yo.
McAtee is 20 in October and yet to start a game for adults.
18 months.Does anyone know how long JM has left on his contract ? Are these clubs just looking to turn his head if his contract is running down ?

They are pissed of with City over an Article in the Atletic? lol.Cardiff and Swansea are both pissed off with City. Cardiff and Swansea were told that they would be first choice for McAtees destination. The talk of rangers has infuriated the Cardiff and Swansea board. Cardiff thought he would be next after Tommy Doyle.
It really is a mess here in Wales, both Welsh clubs are panicking at the end of the window as they don't think they have brought enough quality in to push them up the table.
Swansea really want McAtee, Russel Martin is huge fan he's pissed off that the Swansea board are messing about. Russel Martin wanted him in at the beginning of the window.
He's a pure CM though, hes' not a front 3 player like Palmer and Phil were are. Its gonna be a nightmare to see him get game time as an 8 or 10 here in the first team. For attackers, I think going on loan is kind of overrated IF the intention is to integrate the player into the first team.
For defenders I don't feel the same as they need to regularly play against adults and defense is not an area we can mess about with in games, as they can cost goals.
Playing a forward isn't going to cost the team points, and it's better they learn our style of attack, intensity and general play. Ramp up the minutes year over year, could be a regular by age 21-22 for Manchester City which would be great. He is 11 years younger than KdB and Gundogan, time is easily on his side.
If the player is someone we are unsure of integrating, then yeah loan them, but with Foden and Palmer we can see that if it's clear we want them in the first team, then don't loan them out.
