FFS she's just rang her colleague concerned and being referred to urologists as urgent appointment. Normal wait 25 weeks I'll have letter within 4
Dr says literally I'm happy with what I found, urine, PSA (didn't tell me reading) and bloods fine, examination was ok but felt enlarged and will speak to my colleague and call/txt you with 24 hours with my recommendation that we prescribe medication for enlarged prostate. Her phone call 5 hours later she says that colleague had some concerns re blood in semen and they will speak to urologist with prospect of having another checkup. Usual waiting time roughly 20-25 months but I can expect an appointment within 4 weeksI'm confused with this, apologies if I've read something wrong but I thought you said the doctor was happy with everything and it was an enlarged prostate? What was your PSA level? Mine has jumped in my last test by quite a lot so I have to have a second test. I've been under the consultation for a good eight years and this is a surprising, worrying and unexpected shock for me.
If it is anything they have caught it early but dont let the quickness of the appt worry you , they are covering all the basesDr says literally I'm happy with what I found, urine, PSA (didn't tell me reading) and bloods fine, examination was ok but felt enlarged and will speak to my colleague and call/txt you with 24 hours with my recommendation that we prescribe medication for enlarged prostate. Cheers, yea think tablets mentioned help with urine issues rather than reducing swelling of prostate. I will ask for PSA results when next speaking to surgeryThanks for getting back. Blood and semen in urine occasionally happens with an enlarged prostate, it's happened to me. Obviously if it's happening regularly that needs investigating further.
My consultant said there's not really any medication he can give me to shrink it. He said he could give me tablets to help with the urine flow but I didn't take him up on it. I'd advise asking your PSA result and they should check that every six months if it's high, less if it's very high. Good luck with it.

Hi all just a quick update from myself regarding my diagnosis, I had the surgery last week it ended up being a four hour operation, I was allowed home the following afternoon, very sore but best I recovered at home than taking a hospital bed slowly getting back on feet hope to have the catheter and staples removed on Thursday. Steadily improving day by day. Even it’ll be some time before we now the outcome the surgery it self went very well. So we’re all very positive. Please don’t forget to get yourselves checked out and let’s keep talking.

Yes mate you can .. I did the test with no symptoms. And we found out I had prostate cancer , yes it’s scary but it’s all about timeCan you have a test without any obvious symptoms?
Definitely all males over 50 should routinely be tested. Just before lockdown I had the PSA test I didn't have any symptoms but had the test due to my mate finding the cancer after a work medical. My PSA was 3.9 and a biopsy confirmed level 1 cancer. I am now under active surveillance, not great because I know it is there but relieved that it is now monitored. Hope all goes well mate once the surgery affects wear offYes mate you can .. I did the test with no symptoms. And we found out I had prostate cancer , yes it’s scary but it’s all about time
Am I unlucky I’d say no I’m lucky…we found this at the age of 52 the glass is definitely half full BB.Even though I’m not out of the woods I’m positive, as I’ve said mate don’t wait for symptoms it doesn’t always show them pal.
