I’ll share this you all but it was a quite tough how we found out … my appointment was for 3pm we got a missed call from Tameside at 2 just as me and mrs snake was leaving it the house eventually we got through to another doctor who said basically I’m sorry but your appointment has been cancelled!! Oh we thought this isn’t good as we’ve been living on edge for weeks,so he said I’ll discuss your treatment options..( this is without being told I have cancer) he could tell by my reaction that something isn’t right here so the poor bloke realised I’d not been told . He was distraught told us to get down immediately where to be fair we got the VIP treatment from them.I’m not having a go at them as I’m proud of our NHS and we realise what strain there under.
the funny side of this story came from my 14 yr old daughter when we told her how we found out … her reply was “ wow dad talk about a spoiler alert “ bloody kids eh’ ;)
It's good that you had a good experience after the initial shock, but it's not uncommon for pts not to know about needing treatment.
I've had to make a few calls to pts, that are in shock when I tell them to come in for a prostate biopsy. Thankfully, the majority know, but it should be ALL of them knowing.
Personally, I don't think these things should be 'eased' as it's factual and a part of our current lives.
