Think there are good options in that position on loan at city group clubs. also west ham may replace rice with soucek connection with Daniel Samek in czech so he is one to look for. Also redundant with Rodri. Would prefer Caicedo as his understudy.

Some confuse the quality of the player with the stature of their club.

Ward-Prowse is a very, very good player and has been for some time. It might take a couple more free kicks until they actually start paying attention to the rest of his game.

Ward-Prowse would be the English midfielder to get this summer.

He can play 6, but also as the box-to-box next to a proper Barcelona style 6 (as he does with Romeu) and he could play 8 because he has the touch of creativity Rice doesn't.

Massive work rate, very technical, presumably wouldn't mind being on the bench often because he's making such a big step up and has a little bit of X factor in his set pieces and penalties. I actually think box-to-box is a role we really miss in this squad, which is why Bernardo is doing it. JWP could be a good option to rotate with him and keep him at his best.

He's 27, so would be a nice bridge to replace Fernandinho in the squad then in a year or 2 Gundogan will move on and we could line up a massive transfer for Bellingham.

Pretty sure he could do the 'Cancelo' role from right back as well with his work rate and passing. He's played wing back and full back for saints a few times.

I think he’s a good player but very slow and we need a bit more legs imo. Boubakar Kamala on a free?

He signed a new deal when Villa were interested. Should’ve gone for him last summer as before the new deal Southampton were willing to take 30 to 35 mil.
