With our recent success comes high expectation, if we throw away the league it will in my eyes be deemed as a complete failure of a season compared to our recent seasons especially ending it trophy less and Liverpool potentialy with all 4!
A trophyless season is a terrible, terrible season for us. No way to sugarcoat it. We are only in one, and luckily for us it's the one that most fans claim to value the most. I still think it'll be an underpar season whatever happens now, but we need to make sure we finish strongly. Lifting the premier league on the final day will be a tonic to last night.

This inability to contextualise on here.
Yes, you're right in a way, but when you're not very good or downright shit, as we have been from time to time, expectationss are lower, if any at all. When we are where we are and glory is within our grasp surely you can see that the disappointment amounts to more.
With every player, every employee of the club, every fan wanting to win things and it actually being possible and realistic these times, not to do do could be regarded as failure. Especially after being top for so long and in two semi finals.
No there’s a difference between failure and disappointing.
Firstly at the start of the season many predicted a struggle for top 4 with no striker and the signings chelseas and united made.
But secondly lets take it from where we are today and say we end up on 93 points then that to me is a good season are people then saying if Liverpool get 92 our season is a success but if they get 95 it’s a failure?
For me that would be the difference between disappointing or not rather than failure or not, because our performance is the same in both scenarios .
Either way with just 4 to go the league tables says we have been better than liverpool.

What do you mean claim to value?

They either do value it the most or they don't.

For me, I do.

A trophyless season won't be good, but whatever happens in the next few weeks we'll have another opportunity next season. We're very fortunate.

no. I've seen complete failure, even mild failure , it doesn't look like that.
Losing the title after being top for most of the season and going out the champions league despite being two goals up four times over the tie will be a big blow. Liverpool also cleaning up every trophy will add insult into the wound. It would definitely be a failure from our behalf.

I'm not accusing anyone of lying. A claim is a claim. You're claiming it means more to you, I believe you.

Yep, we are very lucky that even if the worst happens this year we are very likely to win something next year. It's still an unreal time to be a City fan.

But it'll be a long fucking summer. Arguably the longest summer we've had after the takeover.

Let's say it would be a disappointing failure then.
We are competing with teams, not a points tally, whatever they get, the way to beat them is to get more.
Yes with 4 games to go you can make an argument we are still better than Liverpool - but then there is the small matter of those 4 games and Liverpool are in 2 finals having already won one. We're clinging to one thread.

Nope I feel absolutely empty and gutted.

Had a nightmare few days. Exacerbated by City’s collapse yesterday.

Just venting on here so I don’t take it out too much on those around me.

Hopefully we come through with the title, but right now I can’t see it!
Seriously, bud. This club has given us so much to be joyful about in recent years, and it will continue to do so for years to come.

Respectfully, if you're at the point where a game of football is winding you up so much that it's affecting your personal life to the degree you're hinting at, I'd take a bit of a break from watching it.

I'd especially stay away from here, as you'll only be getting hollow validation from the usual wums and bellsniffs.

It’s Brighton Wolves fans be quiet as a mouse when city come to town it be a cauldron of boos cheering and shouting all behind the team and there manager will be up for it to because of Pep.
We’ve played and won in more hostile places than Wolves. To be honest West Ham concerns me more.

They looked as desolate as we felt (and still do feel).

Huge ask now.

The Tottenham game was disgraceful. Played poorly for 90 mins, get out equaliser and then throw it away 30 seconds later.

No killer instinct to finish chances and kill games. Not just yesterday. Palace, Southampton…

Just don’t think we have it in the locker.

At the time yes, but they'll get over it. We had a few players lose the CL final and then go away with England and lose the final of the Euros. It's professional sport that's what can happen. They've got plenty of medals from their time at City and have shown they'll keep fighting. We've had plenty of blows along the way.

I was shocked and stunned and it was a tough nights sleep. But I'm ready for Newcastle now. I'm ready to support the team and help give them the boost they need to win the title.

Pep has spoilt a lot of people on here. Win the 4 games and we finish on 95pts. United's most in a PL season was 92pts. Chelsea managed 95pts under Mourinho in what was considered possibly the greatest league team until Pep took City to 100pts then followed it up with 98pts the next season.

For all these glaring weaknesses in our squad we were minutes away from our second CL final in a row. We're close to another league title.

Our levels are absurd. We most certainly could do with some new faces to freshen up the team, but we're still not doing too badly.

% chances of a win

CITY
Newcastle 84%
Wolves 77%
West Ham 65%
Villa 70%

Liverpool
Spurs 67%
Villa 61%
Southampton 75%
Wolves 79%

So we have the advantage next two games and they have it for the last two.

Contrary to what most people think the highest chance of dropped points of all the games is Villa away for Liverpool (unless Gerrard helps them)

If we don't finish with 1 point more than the Vermin then it will all be for nowt. We haven't got anywhere near the heights of other years despite the points tally. Struggled in plenty of games and were fortunate with a few calls that went our way.
Plenty of posters opinioned that no striker would cost us dearly this Season.
As far as the title goes I hope they were wrong.

With the disapppointment and the manner of the loss to Real, these 4 games are now a massive test of Pep and the team. They have shown the character and mental strength before but this now feels more intense .

Because of that the next game against Newcastle becomes massive, and the fitness and attitude of the players really crucial. If we win that, then the the belief is boosted and we hopefully move on.

Without knowing the extent of injuries to players, but assuming Walker and Stones to be either doubts or definitely missing, everybody has to use the loss to Real to drive them on.

It's going to be difficult and tense, but hopefully we are able to achieve the results to keep the PL away from the dippers .
