Parade report. (part of it)

BBC News.

Luke Reddy, BBC Sport (Mediacity)

It's been an attack on the senses. The smell of the pyro, the noise of the music, the sound of emotional voices and the sight of teams with trophies.

Fireworks flashed off from the buildings that make up Liverpool's waterfront and confetti cannons turned the air red.

People stood on traffic lights. People stood on road signs. Kids sat on the shoulders of dads.

Memories were being created wherever you looked and hopefully, there were kids out there who will fall in love with all the joy football can bring.

The players were absolutely loving it and in truth, whoever you support, football is pretty magic, isn't it?

Followed by underneath.

The parade took place less than 24 hours after the Champions League final, which saw Liverpool supporters face long queues in the hours before the game and a heavy-handed response from French police to the build-up of fans.

Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has urged Uefa to formally investigate the "deeply concerning" scenes, which delayed the start of the game.

Season done now so time to get United back at the top:

Great line in the article:

"Although City won their fourth Premier League title in five years - beating Liverpool by a point - that was their only silverware of the season"

Has to be with Liverpool with their two domestic cups, we had an amazing season this year retaining the title but when you compare it to Liverpools achievements this season we really are found wanting.

The Liverpool loving media are really in full force this morning across all outlets and not one of them have mentioned the following in any detail, nor have they seemed to investigated any of the points like good old journalists used to do.

1. Why did thousands of Liverpool fans travel to Paris without tickets? What the hell was the point, and how many of them congregated at the stadium with the intention of getting in.

2. The fact the Liverpool fans with fake/forged tickets attempted to, or gained access to the stadium, causing genuine Liverpool fans with tickets the problems experienced.

3. There was no trouble at the Real Madrid entrances.

The use of the word 'only' in that paragraph is an outstanding bit of writing............. :-)

I’m waiting to read the article about the game being played in a half empty stadium as thousands with tickets were locked out…….
Yes. The stadium was full by the time the match got going. So it looks like for everyone locked out one of their fellow fans without a ticket was sitting comfortably. The fact of von Trapp urging fans without tickets and where the high numbers of them is totally ignored.
It's the main item continuing item on the BBC news, Liverpool fans with their gripes being the only ones giving their views and the Government have now been brought in trying to catch votes the have no chance of getting.

I feel emarassed to be a Brit at the moment.

All factually correct.
If you try to post this on the BBC, Daily Fail or any other of our upstanding bastions of journalistic impartiality do you think it would be published?

It could be worse, you could be a scouser
Every cloud....

So the French Govt have said it was 'fans' with fake tickets and ticketless supporters who were the cause of the problems.
Liverpool have responded saying they want a 'full investigation'.
Now call me a cynic but my guess is they'll ONLY want a full investigation as long as it exonerates their supporters of any wrongdoing!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to turn the TV off as soon as one of their supporters started spouting off. F*** me I don't need that first thing on a Monday. Or any time come to think of it.

No doubt that the stewards the French police organising wise was a disgrace at the Liverpool end!

Think the reputation of the British fans the amount of Liverpool’s fans there the knowledge of the fake tickets plus the Liverpool end starting to be fill with still thousands outside and yes I believe with the majority of them with legit tickets, they took hard choice to not to let anyone else in! some in the media have said they should open the gates get more turnstiles open I believe it would of made it worse and could of been more of a disaster in the stadium better to control it outside.

Thank god no one died because I believe opening the gates letting even the legit thousands of fans in would caused a worse outcome.

The reports now by the French about fake ticket 30k fans trying to get in is partly true but make no mistake Uefa and the French are as much to blame as those fans with fake tickets and taking the chances of jumping the gates were.

It actually says only 1% of our fans are based in England, not overseas.
It’s another fake story. It’s based on social media interactions not actual fans. All PL clubs have big global audiences. The Mail has just distorted the figures to try to find a negative angle about City. You can’t trust the English press.

The full investigation will say

The French Govt have said it was 'fans' with fake tickets and ticketless supporters who were the cause of the problems. They were told to go without tickets by a big German knob.

Really. the population of Liverpool is just under 500.000, uuummmm, seems like a slight, opps, sorry, BIG exaggeration t

Liverpool have just won the new 'Parade Trophy', to add to their 2 other trophies.

Once again! Thankfully Martin Samuel isn't scared to tell the truth.

Another Great. Great underachievers.

city gave less than 24 hours notice of the parade, and it was on a monday. These fuckers gave 2 weeks notice and it was on a sunday - even taking that into consideration, using my eyes, not some Goebelsesque report from some paid for / fan / click whore journalist, both parades looked to have a similar turnout.

Exactly - Klopp and Dalgleish could easily be putting an end to this by calling it out instead of encouraging it.

Once King Colin told us all to pack it in chanting about Munich etc it was knocked on the head and got self-policed by us overnight.

It's not fucking difficult..........

Klipperty openly encouraged fans to travel without tickets.
