He looks aggressive which is something we desperately dont have. Hopefully he has a bit more pace when running back towards his own goal as that is one of the very few issues that Rodri has (who I absoluely rate btw)......
He will need to improve his use of the ball and playing in tight spaces, with less time...

Can he play as a DM on his own.....??? Or will he be used as a double pivot ...probably both but the interesting bit is can he do it as a single DM

Honestly it’s a mediocre signing imo.
Honestly believe this lad will be a crowd favourite. Just the type of player we like that can win the ball. Throughout our history we like players with a bit of aggression, this lad will surprise a few under Pep. Can’t wait to see him in blue. I can’t blame Leeds fans for being annoyed as this fee is a steal.

I'm sure he can't against the top teams we face. But against the mid and bottom table teams when we have all the possession anyway he will do a job stopping counters.

Against the top team he can sub on to help close things out. I really think he will be something like a mid field Kyle Walker, albeit less valuable because his deficiencies are harder to hide in midfield.

The difference in attitude between Leeds and villa fans, despite Leeds getting a much smaller fee is well noted.
Many Villa fans thought they were pushing for Europe and we were taking their best player to weaken them because we were worried they were on the brink of becoming our direct rivals. They saw Grealish as a traitor, abandoning the ship of their great project choosing to join success rather than build it.

Leeds fans, by and large, know they just escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth and that playing for Pep, with the PL champions and in the CL is a major draw for a player who's given them his whole career so far and deserves to be tested on the bigger stage.

Phillips is mostly defensive minded so will certainly be an interesting option. Leeds are not a defensive team so he will be used to City's style of play which is a huge plus. He will also be hungry, ambitious and anxious to progress. Good signing if we can get him and at a reasonable price.

Villa; Europe? A few day's break in Guernsey, maybe.
