Why? There are players available on free transfers. Zagadou is still available on a free, for example. As 4th choice, he’d more than do. There might be others I don’t know of. There are surely up and coming centre backs currently in lesser leagues across Europe that get picked up by the sides that then make everyone go crazy for them, like Dortmund, Leipzig, Leicester etc. Get one of them rather than a ready made finished article. Anyone. It’s 4th choice CB, I’d rather we made a business decision to spread the funds across the squad a bit better. There’s no need for a 4th choice CB to cost £50m+ imo. No need at all. Use it elsewhere.
