Glad we haven’t been drawn into greed, if he stays at Brighton good luck to him, we can surely find a better value left back that is at least as good as the stopgaps for the last two or three seasons.

Why would he, he's got 4 years left. They could be paying him minimum wage and he's stuck. Must have the same idiot agent as Kane. As dislikeable as they are (were) you can see why the best players have the likes of Raiola looking after them.
Not dislikeable if they are representing you, lol.

I still can't get around how we have let Zini go without cucurella or an alternate LB sorted out

There was never really a rush to get Zini out and with his attitude I know he would have given 100%

Yes , he would have wanted game time - but if we are not going to get an LB , pretty sure Zini would have gone ample game time
If Zinchenco had not gone to Arsenal he would have been sitting on the bench all afternoon yesterday

No?? He was used whenever cancelo dropped off. No idea what you are speaking about. Cancelo is pep's first preference but zinchenko gets on the team whenever cancelo drops off . He doesn't get a free pass

How exactly do Brighton "have the power"? They want so much money, we won't pay it and walk away. That's how it works.
Brighton have the power because
1. They don't need to sell. They have already had some big sales this summer .
2. Cucurella is their player under 5 year contract and he is important to them.
3. They know we don't have a LB.

I feel sorry for the lad now. Our interest in him got him excited enough to put in a transfer request, but now he is being left out to dry a bit. Hope he doesn't have too much hate aimed at him by brighton and the fans.

Brighton will offer him a lot of money now, that's guaranteed. The only question is whether they'll agree to a release clause. If it's 50m, they probably will agree. If it's 45m, who knows, perhaps from next summer? If Cucu goes on strike or something, they'll find ways to appease him. The net result will be that he will be their top earner. Win-win for him.

We value the player at a certain level and won't pay more, doesn't that give us the "power"?

My point is that it's a stupid, cringe making saying that means the sum total of nothing.

How does that gives us any power when we are trying to get Brighton's player whom they dont want to sell?

I personally see nothing wrong with the power statement

After getting involved with Levy last season, City must have known Bloom is cut from the same cloth. They knew what to expect. Yet they went in with a low ball offer, which everyone on here agreed was, so what City were thinking and hoping for only they know.

Do we need to apologise for a double your money in a year offer? Anyone want to buy my car?

They better be, really feel bad for him. Atleast Brighton will try to appease him if move didn't work this summer.
