It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

So now is it OK to voice some concern? The Pep says its all good crowd must be utterly bewildered. They've lost their go to default response.
I don’t know…Pep may have miscounted it’s easily done when the players can play many positions and run about a lot…there might be more people than he thinks, there could be less. He needs to stop moaning get them all to stand still and have a proper count up then, if he’s sure he missing any, get right on the phone to that Txiki bloke.

He could get them to stand by their beds.

All kidding aside I was just telling my brother that I have a weird feeling that Pep may be a bit frustrated over some of the more recent activity. Obviously I don't have a clue but then Pol puts this out. My brother is not a City supporter so he laughed and said poor City, only getting Haaland, Phillips, Alvarez, and Ortega. And of course I get it, but it seems Pep had a comprehensive plan for what he wanted going into 2022-23 and that plan 100% includes a new viable left footed LB. I have never heard Pep complain about the players at his disposal like Tuchel or Conte do on a regular basis, but in this situation I believe its in City's best interest they meet his specific request for a LB. I find it unfathomable that we would not do so by 8/31. That said, it would be nice if some on here recognized the difference between concern and panic. Based on where we are at this exact moment in time there's nothing outrageous about being concerned. Taking the first month of the season for granted can never be part of a good plan. JMO.

Okay I'll try again, for those of us that don't have access to the article, what did Pep say and who doid he say it to .

Love how there's one report about pep being unhappy with the balance (a fair and balanced assumption based on the standings of the squad) and many are using it to pretend their comments of the club being an utter fucking disaster are actually spot on.
It’s not a disaster. What started as a fantastic window and very early on, has turned into a really poor one as things stand. We are weaker and that’s not flapping it’s just saying it how it is. Still a few weeks so I fully expect city to sign a couple more otherwise it will be a very long season

why would Wolves give him to us for any less than 50m having just watched Brighton stick the same price tag on Cucurella.....they wouldnt
Wolves need finances a lot more than Brighton do, for one. They are searching from a number 9 because of Jimenez' injury and given the state of market it's hard to find a decent one for under 40m. They also unlike Brighton already have cover there, so they might haggle on fee but they are much more likely to sell and negotiate a deal with us. Plus add the fact that Mendes is the player's agent and we have a good relationship.

We'll sign one more and it will have been a great window. Granted it's a quite important one, which is why we will sign one.

Pep expressed some concern over our lack of depth in the back.
Posted by his buddy Pol.

A left back is all we really need. Two is great and actually what we want. With McAtee going it just assures me we will see even more of Palmer. I’m more than happy with all replacements. I’d hate if Bernado went but I think the club have had enough time to scout any replacements.

If we after a left back who can be up to speed in the premier we need a premier left back bringing anyone in from Europe they’ll need time plus we won’t know if they can cope with the premier! Rather let JWB fill in those Zinchenko minutes

JWE who has also never played in the premier league and has zero experience at any top level? We dont know if he can either..

id say the fact that wolves are desperate for money would mean they would price him even higher knowing we are desperate
