Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

He has not made a match winning save since the game against Atletico Madrid. We will have to agree to disagree. Granted he doesn't have to make many saves but it would be nice every now and then if he did. As I say I have defended him big time in the past, so I'm not some fucking moaning City fan and I am entitled to my opinion just like you are. Let's leave it at that because I'm pissed off enough and haven't got the time to be arguing with another blue.
Fair enough. Does the one on one save tonight not count?

It would have done if we hadn’t conceded afterwards.

He dropped the ball as he was sliding out of the area.

He didn’t force Cancelo to concede the free kick, nor the ricochet onto Stones‘ thigh.
It wasn't a difficult take for a top goalkeeper. I'm in the family stand so was right behind it, poor handling.

Anyway, I respect your opinion and we ain't going to budge on this, so let's agree to disagree.

Yep it sure is, and winning several premier league titles and trophy after trophy opens you up to a shit load of criticism, see mahrez sterling gundogan etc, haaland could.score 100 goals but if we win fuck all what does it count for
I can assure you now..If Haaland scores 100 goals we win the title.

Could you tell me one chance that Bernardo created in the entire match? I count 6 clear chances created by KDB, and he was the only olayer running forward...
He was constanly running at players and creating space....it was his pass for KDB that set up the goal .....I didnt say KDB had a bad game, I said he had one of those games where he looked like he was trying to hard to do it all himself...

On Pep this one. As usual when he refuses to try change things when we need to win the game, we end up not winning the game. That was poor, and he will keep doing it. 'We persist with the same till the end, we're Man City, we persist with the same till the end'.
It's ironic that pep was arguably the biggest advocate of 5 substitutions and in the two matches we dropped points, pep made a total of 2 substitutions as compared to 7 by opposing managers. Pep's reluctance to change can be frustrating at times, it was the substitutions that did the trick last time against villa

Couldnt agree more...Never rated him that highly...far too often lack lustre but today wasnt his fault....the starting 11 should all have played better. He did nothing however when he came on
He did he hammered a shot wide when a player at the top of his game should have least forced a save from the keeper

Bad day at the office. Time to sit down at the drawing board and start again.
We are City we will rise and fight again.

If that makes me a happy clappy so be it. I’m not prepared to give up on or completely castigate a team who played the way they did on Wednesday. Maybe this was a come down after the euphoria of that. It happens. We deal with it and THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD will rise again and fight another day. JMHO. :-)

Walker definitely needs benching, had a crap start to the season especially his passing which is way off, Cancelo on the right Gomez on the left. Another player who needs to buck his ideas up is Phil, not showing anything on that left side, either Grealish or Alvarez will be getting a go soon.
Just a poor day at the office tonight and even at one nil we never looked comfortable

The result is disappointing, first half was piss poor second we should have finished them off but my major gripe is the Villa keeper for the biggest false injury play acting especially when you see Mings have a word with him, seriously I know it’s bad form but I hope the **** gets cleared out properly.
Yep you could see it a mile off. Fucking blatant. That’s why we need a timekeeper like in rugby, this absolute nonsense whereby the referee can decide how much to add on is wank. Cut the playing time to an hour or even eighty minutes, but the clock only runs when the ball is in play. Villa started with the time wasting straight from the off and got worse as the game progressed.

His goals stat can blind someone to judge him fairly and i agree.
No, not when you're averaging nearly 2 goals a game. What do we want in a striker? Hold up play. Great hold up play. I love that in a striker. Look at how he holds up the ball in the centre circle. Fantastic. Sure, there's other facets but that's the most important one and the primary job for a man in his position. Man, we've got weird about football

the FA's hard work this week of gifting win to chavs and a draw to dippers worked an absolute charm. The gap to chavs has now closed to just 4 points and dippers to just 5.
