He was the same at Newcastle. Need Philips to get fit so he has competition.Forest arent great,i get it....but the system of play we employed allowed him to do what he does best.Today it did not,and the same goes for Bernie and Gundo.

No over reaction, its justified criticism. The usual over reaction on here to a disappointing result. Ah well; still unbeaten after 6 games. We go on.
Bernie and KDB had the RW locked off in the 2nd half. We were in complete control and Villa were never getting back in it. I don’t think Mahrez should be getting on the pitch. However, if that is the move, bring Gundo off and put Bernie in the middle. In the context of changing things up as Bernie wasn't doing much and Mahrez is the RW sub it makes sense.
He played poorly, but the idea to change it up is correct.
Pep's problem is that was the only attacking sub and Ake coming on for Walker was hardly useful as Walker could just play back 3 anyways.
I'd have kicked him out the door whether he wanted to stay or not.Nonsense.
Out of the three there was only one wanting to stay.
Mahrez and Gundo, the eternal scapegoats. Feel better now after you dropped your turd?!I have no idea what Pep was trying out there. 1st half Walker was seeing far too much ball (again). 2nd half we are in complete control and Pep fucks about again.
Why/how does Mahrez end up on the pitch for Bernie? It absolutely stank of Pep thinking the game was won and ‘oh, we better give Mahrez some minutes’. He took off our legs when we were in complete control of the game and we ended up looking dead on our feet. Gundo (fucking woeful) should have come off, Bernie in the middle and Alvarez on to keep our legs on the pitch.
Make no mistake, Villa were fucking turd and we have thrown away 2 points by Peps stupid fucking subs.
I often wonder if Pep tinkers with formations early on in the season to make it difficult for other managers later in the season to know which system we are going to play. The only thing on Pep, is that we sometimes find it hard to understand how he allows people stay on the pitch, who are consistently under performing.
We all would have loved to see something more urgent and direct up front. i.e. Alvarez.
I don’t think Pep is sacrificing the league for the CL as someone suggested. I think he just looks at the overall situation with the squad and has a whole season picture in his head. We just look at the game we are watching, but I think he looks at the the season and calculates how he will win the lot. That’s his use of the squad.
He hasn’t done it yet (won the lot) but he’s not been too far off.
We’re always there or there anouts at the business end.
It’s frustrating watching us drop what seems like unnecessary points to Villa and Newcastle but who would bet against us winning the league come next May.
Exactly. The game has been stopped. Ederson did nothing wrong today. Nobody did. Just not quite as dynamic overall. It’s just you and a few twitter trolls.
He had no chance with their goal, saved a one on one and didn’t save an offside goal because the whistle had already gone.
