Mary D's The Townley or another?

I have never used a cash card in a shop ever, not once. You have noticed they have tills in shops haven't you?
You said "Smaller businesses deal in cash mainly".

This just isn't true at all.

Of course shops have tills, what's that got to do with anything? My gripe is that in 2022, a pub having several "cash only" tills is mental.

You enjoy using cash. Good for you. The only time I ever use cash these days is the car wash, which is annoying as I never even carry a wallet, haven't done for years, I use Apple Pay for everything.

This is not uncommon. Not everyone's a Luddite.

Anyway, back to my point. Mary D's is a horrible shithole.

Most small businesses use cash therefore believe it or not cash is a thing, nothing to do with being a luddite and in fact it makes you less of a drone.

To be fair if a dirty door handle bothers you and cigarette smoke makes you run for the fabreze the upcoming sports bars would suit you to a tee mate :)

I'm not saying they should stop accepting cash. I'd they did they's lose the business of the dinosaurs with their pockets full of sixpences and shillings wouldn't they.

They need to move with the times and accept contactless payments on every till - even have some contactless only tills, this would speed things up.

You're doing it again, there is no reason why there should JUST be contactless tills is there?

As I said, not everyone wants to walk past a till make it ping and pay for their sherry.

That sounds full on yank that, are we seriously moving on fully from the raw sawdust on the floor atmosphere to the themed American experience?

If we are we are further down the road to ruin than I thought we were.

I’m not sure what the precise definition of a Sports Bar is but a bar that shows sport doesn’t necessarily have to be “Full on Yank” does it? In fact I’m not even sure what a Yank sports bar is.

As they go through security which isn't there after.

After Manchester Arena and 2015 in Paris, having people coming in when others are leaving is not going to happen.
There's loads of stewards on the exits at the end. More than there are before the game.

Give it a year or two and you'll probably see what a yank sports bar looks like, this is football, no tailgating no ice cream music and no beer hats.

Someone suggested opening a "Sports bar" let's not be naïve and not understand what one is, the matchday experience needs to be raw, not some coiffured imitation.
