Seat Counters - 2022/23

Are you talking aways only?

I'm sure the kippax was always pay on the gate and the season ticket books with numbers and it was a random number every game. Kippax shut in 1994. I'm sure you could just rock up with cash right through to the end of maine rd though.
That is why I said wholey, you couldn't buy a ticket at all for the away end.

Birmingham City on boxing day 2003 had a cash turnstile but they sold tickets in advance, the last time I saw a cash option (not ticket office next to the away end). Home have sold tickets for every game since before I was born, but had cash for the some of the cup games in the final seasons for the Kippax only, it cost more though, Birmingham was £17 in the league cup in 2001, it was a rip off.

Pretty sure once Maine Road became all seater - 1994/95 season - you couldn’t pay on the gate for any game. You could rock up at the ticket office on the day/night of the game and buy a ticket that way if it wasn’t sold out but you couldn’t pay at the turnstiles like you could when the Kippax was a terrace.

All pay at the gate ended when the all seater stadium Taylor report was announced somebody will no doubt be able to put a year on it think.it may have been 2004 !

My seat on the exchange sold within an hour. Usually takes 2-3 days.
First time I’ve ever sold my ticket on the exchange for todays game. I’ve tried loads of times too. Had to sell them on Facebook for like £20 prior to this season. I think my Brighton ticket has been sold too. Pep and Haaland are taking us to another level. No empty seats at home!

How many times do people have to post this?

The game has been “sold out”’for a while along with the next two home games. The seats appearing are from the seat exchange and will keep appearing right until kick off.
I put mine on the exchange in the early hours of this morning and it has gone already.
I leave it until as late as possible and it has always gone within a couple of hours. The derby went in 10 minutes!

I love that my seat isn’t empty but hate that it isn’t me filling it!! *lol*.

No seats available for Southampton now the exchange tickets have been taken off sale.

As has been said many times now, but needs saying again for those who appear not to believe it. We are selling out weeks in advance even for the lesser premier league games.

What I mean is, it’ll get to kick off and all ticket exchange seats will have gone too.

Depends on your definition of sell out.
There’s only one definition of sold out and that’s every seat is sold. If sold seats are put up for resale they’re still sold whether they get a taker or not because they have been paid for and the club gets the money.

It seems to be the fashion to constantly dig out our attendances, Jamie ohara still has the odd jibe about it now, and the last time I looked the spuds are 1000's down on their capacity most games. Even the mighty barca get 40k crowds for some of their games but nowt is ever said. Watched the Brighton v spuds game yesterday, 100's empty seats in their small stadium. Just seems to be a city thing.

When did the id card / club scheme come out - post Hillsborough by a season? ... couldn't get txts on the day from then till now

The rule was if the away team sold out only members could buy on the day.

In 1994 we had no away allocation or greatly reduced for the initial games, so they got strict on in then, but then eased off.

We had Box Office South selling tickets to anyone without numbers at one point, paper tickers all third tier east.

Mad that O'hara is given air time given that it wasn't too long a go he punched a teenager. Talkshite have no vetting procedure when it comes to hiring staff. The bloke is a mess and thick as pig shit.

Looking at the Brighton game and there are 0 tickets available.
Looking for a couple of tickets for family.
Is this an error on the website or is my laptop playing up?

Why would it be an error. The games sold out, keep checking and season ticket holders will list their seats on the exchange.
Because usually theirs plenty of single seats in lots of blocks. I thought it might have been my laptop playing up.
Will keep checking everyday. Thanks

It actually worked in my favour, so it’s not a complaint. But in the interests of fairness, it seemed season ticket holders could buy additional tickets for unnamed guests for the Southampton game but non season ticket holders couldn’t even buy one unless they’d paid the £30. Not sure that’s fair.

Ive said this a few times. Its a disgrace. My cousin wants to take her 2 9 year olds (city mad) to their first game. She looked into it and for their family of 4 it was circa £230 when you factor in buying memberships aswell. They have decide due to the cost not to go. So bad….. and very short sighted by City, especially in this current financial climate….
