Why not? The Chelsea fan I sit next to at work says he's been one of their best players in every match so far.

Potter obviously taking a while to get things going but I suspect he'll do really well in that system.
 
Came on as wingback yesterday apparently. Also started as a wingback against Villa before Potter moved him up front in the second half as it wasn’t really working. And he’s only scored in the league against Leicester and Southampton so far.

I was fairly impressed until I saw he was their top scorer with 3. Still, that’s more than anyone else playing for them as you say.

I just wondered why the thread had been bumped.

I was probably the single biggest defender of Sterling during his time at City but I've watched him a lot for Chelsea and since starting pretty brightly he's been really quite bad. No goals in a long time now, not getting involved in games and now shunted out to wing-back where he's not much use. Considering the player he was I don't think it's going well at all.

Yep he was brilliant for us one of our best players of all time! I wish him all the best for him and his family but now a Chelsea player I want him to fail!

A good player but nowhere near one of our best players of all time.
There are probably at least 5 that have played alongside him that were better, never mind the Bells, Lees, Summerbees etc.

Played over 300 games for City and scored over 100 goals. Our 11th highest goal-scorer of all time and one of the most decorated players to ever put on the blue shirt (10 trophies). Scored two goals in an FA Cup final, reached the PL 100 Club, was our top scorer of the 19/20 season, a first-team player during the Centurions and Fourmidables seasons, won PL Player of the Month three times, was named in the Team of the Season in 2019 and won the PFA Young POTY award at the same time, and he's one of only 26 City players in our entire history to appear in a major European final.

If he'd had a record like that for City during the 70s and 80s you'd be getting all misty-eyed about him. But don't let facts get in the way of a good meme, eh?
