You’re on the right thread if it’s odd you’re after. He didn't talk about Souness, Souness talked about him. The only ones concerned about his Almirez comments seem to be a couple of bluemonn posters, bit odd.

You think he isn't putting the work in ? How are things really ?He responded to him just yesterday in an interview with the French newspaper L'equipe

Jack Grealish : « La pression est un privilège »
L'ailier anglais évoque, avec détachement et franchise, la fascination médiatique qu'il suscite dans son pays, ainsi que sa délicate intégration à Manchester City.www.lequipe.fr
He just needs to stop talking about it, roll up his sleeves and put the work in. Love from the fans and nice words from the manager wouldn't stop neutrals from seeing and saying things as they really are.
We’ve reached the stage where it’s frowned upon to call a reality TV show rubbish, but actively encouraged to call one of our players out at every opportunity. You’re on the right thread if it’s odd you’re after.
Jack will be OK. Sure, a goal here and there will do him the power of good but them I'm sure those who don't rate him will move onto something else to criticise him for. We’ve reached the stage where it’s frowned upon to call a reality TV show rubbish, but actively encouraged to call one of our players out at every opportunity.
Even if he did do better, the Ederson thread would become very popular!Jack will be OK. Sure, a goal here and there will do him the power of good but them I'm sure those who don't rate him will move onto something else to criticise him for.
That's the beauty of Grealish, you can always find something...
I've stopped going in that one altogether. Only so many threads I can get pissed off with at a time.. Haha!Even if he did do better, the Ederson thread would become very popular!
Maybe that’s why he starts him so oftenHe was already on the pitch. The manager clearly doesn’t see him as a game changer.
I see this argument being made for Bernardo all the time and I agree with it. Appreciate his numbers tend to be better than Jack's anyway, but still the point stands... what he does for the team can't just be measured in goals and assists, and if he's not getting those numbers he's still a key part of how we play.I cannot imagine this same argument for Bernardo or KDB. imagine they had seasons like 2 goals, 2 assists for PL all year but obviously high up in these hidden stats that Grealish is the master of.
would we all say KDB and Bernardo does not have to rack up big numbers because they do important work?
we are in a lucky situation that Haaland so far outscoring all expectations, probably overscoring his xG to and did not need the usual "lets wait 12 months until he beds in" before he starts scoring regularly. otherwise we would need to rely heavily on goals coming from Mahrez (his form died), Grealish (he hardly ever scores), while Gundo also not putting up high numbers going forward.
Maybe that’s why he starts him so often
That’s only 4 games he’s missed, doesn’t seem a lot of missed games for a full season mateHe doesn’t. Last season he was left out of the CL Quarters and semi. Out of the Villa game.
He remained rooted to the bench vs Liverpool.

How was our record in those games? 2 wins, two losses. Not as good as we normally achieve. He doesn’t. Last season he was left out of the CL Quarters and semi. Out of the Villa game.

So you think he started every game but 4?That’s only 4 games he’s missed, doesn’t seem a lot of missed games for a full season mate

We lost in Madrid because Walker got injured. Grealish’s chance was only not scored because of an unbelievable save from Courtois. Not sure I see your point? Our win percentage is naturally lower in the biggest of game.
Not that I think it’s relevant but we were cruising in Madrid till Grealish came on. As I say though, not really relevant to the outcome of the games he plays in or doesn’t. The relevant point is, our manager doesn’t seem to trust our record signing in the most difficult games. And certainly doesn’t seem to believe he has it in him to win or change a game.
Its nonsense in a thread full of nonsense. Some have a weird obsession with him and twist things to prove Pep shares their concerns, luckily Pep isn’t one with those concerns and neither are most fans. Most important games are PL and CL k/o ties.
We've played 35 of them in 2023.
Jack has started just 13 of them.
Think about that. Just 13 starts out of the 35 most important games.
Even the "want away" Sterling started 16 of those games despite the fall-out and he hasn't been here for 11 of them.
Mahrez has managed 17.
For the time being Grealish is a glorified squad player because Pep hasn't trusted him as much as other players.
Even Sterling and Mahrez.
Why do you think that is?
We lost in Madrid because Walker got injured. Grealish’s chance was only not scored because of an unbelievable save from Courtois.
I don’t think any of us can truly say we understand Pep logic.
So far this season, Grealish has played in 1 out of 2 matches against big teams. We won the one he played in and lost the one he didn’t.
We don’t know how physically fit he’s been at any stage and we don’t know why he didn’t play at Anfield.
I can’t read Pep’s mind either, but don’t try to suggest why he was picked or not.He didn’t play at Anfield because Pep doesn’t pick him in the biggest games..
There’s loads of reasons we lost in Madrid, Grealish could have won the game, but he didn’t. He wasn’t alone, others missed the chance to kill the game too. Grealish was also lazy defensively vs Madrid.
Not sure there’s an argument to the fact he’s not been trusted in the biggest of games. The glaringly obvious example would be Villa at home. 2-0 instead opting for Sterling & Gundogan.
I don’t profess to know Pep’s mind and I’d never second guess him.
But leaving our record signing on the bench in that game, with that much on it vs that opposition speaks volumes to me. Then when Grealish was fit firing and finally hitting form, he left him out again vs Liverpool, and not using from the bench.
