That Pompey/Derby game last night (whilst not spellbinding stuff) will probably end up more interesting to me than Qatar vs Senegal will likely be tomorrow. Or, indeed, any number of the group games. Tournaments (not just this one) only start to get interesting when you reach the knockout stages.

You would be the only one watching Qatar v Senegal Jim :-) what fixture list have you got ?

The Welsh have been canny operators in Marketing the football team in recent years.
Yes it’s helped making the last two Euros and easier to pull a smaller fan base as one. A lot of the Cardiff/Swansea shit seems to have disappeared at International games.
The tag “ Together Stronger” was genius and now they’ve adopted the powerful nationalist anthem “Yma O Hyd”. On top of a 4th place in the Euros the National team is almost like a club side.

I’m actually having a dry period too. Might as well use the fun sponge that is the World Cup to look after my body a bit, although it’s looking likely that I’ll be in town for the Wales match as it should be a cracking atmosphere.

Probably cancel the tournament and chop any offending parts off in public. Or at least ban booz sales across the country..
I’d imagine the offender would disappear into a jail with years of diplomatic discussions for there release..

I may be in the minority on here but I’m really looking forward to it getting started now. Especially from Tuesday when it’s four games every day.

Time to concentrate on the football now for me. I do hope the TV channels don’t feel the need to be banging on about politics every two minutes. I’ll watch Newsnight if I want politics.
