Because 'state owned clubs' can spend a lot of money on players unlike United?

Come on Eric - what you REALLY mean is "I can't compete with a manager who is quite clearly galaxies ahead of me but I'll hide behind some other feeble reason."
And that goes for Klopp, the hateful eight, and all the other crap managers on and off the pitch.

Oh the shit just got a little shittier. After the bent Chevrolet deal came the bent Team Viewer deal but now the rags have agreed to allow the sponsorship to end early. Apparently T.V. have agreed to remain as sponsors until a new one is found. To me, a born cynic, that means they've stopped paying but rather than the rag shirts be unadorned the name will stay on until a new one is found.
Just when they need money as well, oh dear.
Team viewer could never afford that, always something off there for me

I agree and even though I know little about their business financal health, I assume they've told the rags they have no money to pay further intallments. How else do they get out of a 5 year contract ?
Like the Chevrolet deal, no journo dares ask the question 'how can they afford to pay that much'
We are the bad guys, yeh right.

Edit: the mail are reporting that the rags are buying back the deal !
It is as bent as they come and the rags are trying to cover it up.

Just a major fuck up there for me

That's exactly what they'd need to do.

So we are saying United will actually spend money to buy back the sponsorship rights with the back story that they want to sign a more lucrative deal, rather than have it be known that Team Viewer wanted to renegotiate/cancel because they were getting no value out of the deal?

Do we think they will actually spend money to do that, or is it just financial PR?

Forgive my business ignorance but why not let just go under ?

I suppose that would reflect badly on the value of their sponsorship rights, which they are trying to sell again. Better to come up with some cockamamie story that United want to increase the sponsorship now that Covid is over, than say Team Viewer want to cancel it because they are getting no value out of it.

Nobody would work with the rags again if there was risk involved

Yes, which is the problem they have. People in the market will know about the disasters the Chevrolet and Team Viewer deals have been. And why. And also the potential change in owners. It's pretty clear there is a large element of risk. It's down to the ability of the management in selling the positives of the sponsorship, I suppose.

To think that there are over a decade's worth of rags worldwide who bought and own various shirt tops/merchandising now knowing their previous two main shirt sponsors have regretted sponsoring them.

Audi paid over the odds for their deal too iirc.
The executive who negotiated it obo Audi got the heave-ho I believe.

The BBC even surpass themselves when reporting on last night's bi-election in Stretford. I'm not quite sure what relevance this has but the BBC will mention United wherever they can.

The Stretford and Urmston constituency includes Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium.
