Jason Van Blerk, another one of Frank's Planks.
The only thing I remember about him was the own goal he scored at the Valley the season we went down to (real) 3rd Division.
Winning goal for Charlron that day I seem to recall! Left back wasn't he? We have had some dodgy left backs over the years for sure!

Unrelated but who remembers Stephen Jordan playing on when he had done his ankle.

Van Blerk got their equaliser. I was sitting in the home end that day so had bird’s eye view. Fucking whistled in

Between Alan Ball and the end of Joe Royal we has signed a shit load of journeymen. Some are clubs legends given the 99 and 00 promotions.
We also signed a lot of loan players in that era, from memory Ostenstadt, Ekulund, Mazzarelli, Briscoe, Wassall, Lee Mills, Robins all came and went without leaving a lasting impression.

Tony Grant a rival to Brannan.
Lee Peacock and Fat Bob fucking abysmal. We had some right shite in the late 90s early 00s.Ged Brannan though what an utter tosser he was.How he got paid to be a professional footballer is beyond me.

Carl Bradshaw - swap deal with Sheffield Wednesday for Imre Varadi.

5 forgettable appearances and never established himself before going back to Sheffield to play for United.

Terrible deal.
