Liverpool fans throwing missiles from South Stand Level 3

No problem with that Ric, but the bulk of last nights issues seem to be one way from what I've read here, so joining up with them, especially after the other controversial letter/email wasn't a good idea.

They also should recognise that putting 6000 liverpool fans above City fans was a poor idea, and a recipe for disaster.

We don't help ourselves sometimes.
I agree, which is why I think a joint statement, but with the clubs separately owning specific incidents would be better. It would perhaps show that things were more one-sided than the actual statement they put out suggests.

Steau Bucharest flags waved, is a great way to taunt 39 dead Italians, whilst supposedly laughing at the elder and classier club of the City.
Please do describe how this is not related to anything… and so further the snowballing concept of ‘always the victims’.
Until ‘you’ Liverpool the club, and Liverpool the fans, take ownership of the crap done - Munich chants, Heysel, coach attacks (not just City), spitting (aside: how is carragher still a pundit), missile attacks, Stanley knifes in stanley park, fountain pushing, jibbing in (for ever and a day, and clearly Paris), fake tickets (Paris again)… then any deflection by yourselves just amplifies the growing ‘always the victims’.

It’s not rocket science, take responsibility for your past behaviour, acknowledge it, respect it into the future, don’t talk absolute bollox about ‘being different’, ‘European royalty’, istree, ‘socialist principles’, ‘immaculate fan behaviour’ and finally call out and ensure the media are called out for sweeping reprehensible behaviour under the carpet.
you forgot the warming up in T Shirts defending a racist

If a city fan racially abused a disabled liverpool fan then the y need a banning order and the club should go fully at it.

However on the rest of last night the blatant lies about the coin/pot/piss/flare throwing is quite pathetic from them red scouse wank stains and their club needs to list and shame the antics, as do we with the above racism.

coming out together and hiding who did what on either side is only fueling tit for tat every meeting between us.
I think that’s something that sets us apart from them, we will and do hold up our own to account, we can point the finger at our own and call them cunts.

The news of the City fan racially and ably abusing a Liverpool fan is fucking out of order and I too hope they were caught and face a proper ban from football. We don’t want any of that shit in our support, it’s unacceptable. It’s nobody else’s fault but that disgusting twat’s; it’s not anything to do with any prior incidents between the two sets of fans, clubs or the media why that City fan acted the way he did. He did it because he’s a ****.

Whereas we have fans of Liverpool coming on here and saying stuff like, ‘yeah well if you didn’t sing that song or didn’t come to our place giving it the “big-one” about your title win, Liverpool fans wouldn’t be throwing things at your fans’, like they have in this thread. Yet again absolving themselves of blame.

You expecting liverpool (the club or fans) to accept any responsibility is pretty far fetched in my opinion, they never have, they never will.

We're friends and so I don't want to fall out, but they are a dispicable bunch in so many ways, and its not just recent years, it goes back decades, they as a club always back their fans no matter what criminality they produce, and I can go back to to the 1980's and back it up from my own experiences.

I'd been to plenty of away games, before I first went there, but I'd never seen the shit I saw there.

I've been since a few times, but nothing seems to have changed.

Let’s move on and leave them behind their not worth it we know that. We’ve had the rags , Chelsea and that lot even Arsenal at some point . All trying to become our nearest contender they’ve failed all of them it’ll be Newcastle next and unfortunately for them it will end the same. No arrogance it’s just the way it roll.
That lot will be soon very soon forgotten about.

Exactly. Thousands of people who come to the game. 100 thousands of people who can come. Millions who could at any one point get a ticket. One fan doesn't represent a fan base. The fan base is represented by the reaction to the one dickhead.

I’m certainly not expecting it, I was just talking hypothetically, and similarly don’t want to fall out about it! My experiences of Anfield also unpleasant, due to the police as much as the locals.

Items were being thrown before the always the victims chant.

So the always the victims chant had nothing to do with items being thrown by Liverpool fans.

Liverpool fans threw those items because, we’ll, they’re Liverpool fans.

I know a few decent coppers but like every situation in life there's that balance between control and not wanting to be controlled. Often people who've experienced negative feelings of being undermined, controlled, not treated well - when presented with an opportunity for deviance they act upon it.

Take the example of the man who's been bullied (a cliche for coppers I know), or the man who's been rejected by all the tarts in town, the man who feels intimated by the dickheads, the gangs, the hench blokes, the bully types, the young lads who have nothing to lose so offer you out.....this is the control balance in action. You don't have much control and you resent it. Give these men the opportunity to do something that gives them control and often they will act upon it.

Add into the mix a narcissistic type personality where any rejection or questioning of the ego is met with resentment and you have the fuel for a classic dick head copper. Which unfortunately seems to describe at least 70-80 percent of the cunts.
then look at the coppers who run into terrorist attacks (London Bridge, Borough Market to name two) with nothing more than a baton!

are they classic dick heads?

out of interest what do you do for a living? whatever it is i'm sure your the biggest dick head in your trade!

Liverpool Echo getting priorities right :

“Liverpool have confirmed their intention to investigate a number of incidents at Manchester City's Etihad Stadium on Thursday night that includes the racial abuse of disabled supporters.
Despite the entertainment on the pitch, the match was marred by a number of disturbances in the crowd that saw Liverpool 's disabled supporters abused on the tribune. Objects were also thrown from the visitors into the home end, causing injury to a teenage girl.
A City supporter was ejected from the stadium for the abuse, which is understood to be of a racist nature, that was aimed at some of Liverpool's disabled following in Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police have also launched an investigation after a 15-year-old girl suffered injuries when an object was thrown in her direction. It's understood the cuts sustained were serious enough to require treatment at the stadium on the night”

In other words :
Liverpool fans getting shouted at….

…and while were on the subject some random 15yr old girl get’s head cut open by pint pot filled with coins thrown from the top tier

Next………

I did once. Just my truthful view and opinion, which I stand by to this day. But I was banned from the Liverpool thread and BM.
Sorry, but you’ll have to refresh my memory as I can’t recall that. By all means, do it by PM if you’d prefer.

Its hard to know. I think the clubs are desperate to move away from the toxicity of recent matches and considered it better to work together to normalise things. Maybe there has also been a bit of introspection at the clubs on how they have to lead by example not potentially stoke the flames.

What evidence do we have that Liverpool want to move away from it. Remember they have encouraged it.
Maybe now they realise or have been told privately but I think the olive branch has always come from City but I still have not seen any evidence from the club.

The statement from Hil support group is a step forward & welcome but I think they have been just as bad in the past.

They were arrested. That’s the crux, somebody committed a crime & they were dealt with.

We’ll probably find out hey said fuck off back to Norway to an able bodied Scouser who’s been on invalidity for 20 years ;)
