That first half formation/personnel didn't work at all. He changed the personnel at half time and it improved our pressing and got players more into roles they can play. But it was still a formation that didn't work too well.
It's easy for us all to scream at him to go back to the formation we've used for the last couple of years but there hasn't been one, there's been one that varies a lot. Whilst it's nearly always 433, sometimes, the full backs push wide more, sometimes the wingers hug the touchlines, sometimes one attacking midfielder drops alonside the holding midfielder. I would draw them if I could be bothered but there are multiple formations that we have used over the alst few years, not jsut one.
I think what we need to accept with Pep is that he's built a career on trying to be one step ahead of the opposition. He's trying to get something in place where we control games and ping it about like that last two seasons but we have the cutting edge of Haaland in the box. I don't think he's found that yet, and last night was a fucking mess to be honest, but I'm behind him all the way and trust him to get it right.
