Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to be proved to be a know nowt know nothing …

But i just dont see him making it at city. I can see a very good premier league career at a club like Leeds or bournemouth , but to make it at city you have to be exceptional, and hes ‘just’ good

Hope to be proved wrong, just my opinion
Exactly my thoughts - does grab his opportunities like a Rico has

Won’t get many more opportunities to shine

I think it is perfectly fair to say he was by no means bad, but of all of our players, he was the most disappointing.

And that has been the case recently with him, which is frustrating for fans, because we desperately want him to succeed at City like Phil (and recently Lewis) have.

He is a kid if Mahrez was over on that side he be not at its best! I thought he did fine contributed his passing was good a couple of mistakes like every player can do! Some fans expect to much!

Weird comments in here. I think he played quite well overall just with some poor decision making. Should 100% have squared it to alvarez for a tap in. Whenever he's on the pitch on the wings he looks comfortable in the side. There's a lot more to come from him and he's not getting the chance in his natural role but he's having a good progressive season.

Even if for some reason he doesn't kick on over the next few years, and this applies to all the academy players, Not every academy graduate has to be a superstar to be valuable for the side, they're essentially free players for the squad quota until we have 4 of them over 21 so even if they're just a squad option primarily used for resting others, they're still very valuable to the squad.

So he hasn’t shown anything of shined in previous games? He was the standout player in previous cup games and when he came on in the champions league

I don’t think I expect any more than Pep expects, but I understand not everyone will agree with me.

It’s bizarre to see posters writing him off already. Seems like no one has any patience.

Others saying he’s shown no potential either. Really? He’s had quite a few standout performances for us. He’s barely played and needs some game time
I don't think anyone is writing him off, just adressing some areas of his game that need improving. There's still a vibe of teenage FIFA player about him; very tricky with the ball at his feet, but knows it and holds on to it too long sometimes. Once he learns to pass and move a little quicker he'll look the business.

Thought he did ok, but not at the level of the dippers match, and he still looks a bit tentative when he has the chance to take somebody on.

Sometimes he makes the difficult look easy, and the easy look difficult. Had he scored that chance in the first half I’m sure he would have grown into the game a lot more than he did.

Cole is playing on the wrong side currently , and be learning the same way Foden did initially , he is far more comfortable on the right, and thats when we will see the best of him , for now he will be happy having some minutes

Learning the game well, is moved to accommodate others..
Whilst not his best performance, it was one of his more mature performances to date.

I’ve seen quite a few posts saying he’s not good enough or that he won’t make it. I just think he needs more game time - he hasn’t played enough

Seems like the rest did him some good.

I still want Palmer playing RW, but Mahrez is the undisputed starter.

Also looks like Mahrez drifted centrally alot in the 2nd half, maybe an option in the future.
A few years ago when Pep briefly played a 352( i think at the turn of a year) it was maybe down to injuries at the tim Mahrez was played in midfield a couple of times and looked different class. Obviously he’s not suddenly going to play there again though.
