Tinkerman strikes again!
We need some consistency, when's the last time we played the same team for two consecutive games. Play players in their correct position as well, Walker as a centre back for God's sake. It was boring to watch, we had more foul throws than shots on target.
If our attack is going to be a snails pace build up then a ball lobbed in for Haaland we've got no chance. We need to move the ball faster, and get some pacey wingers who can get to the byline and put some decent crosses in.

Most worrying for me is that we were still sh1t in the second half despite bringing the 'big guns ' on.
And we still can't pick out Haaland with crosses ( or Haaland can't get on the end of them whichever).

None of that starting 11 should be anywhere near the team that starts Saturday ,and that includes Foden,Walker,Cancelo and Gundogan,fucking awful,and Palmer is nowhere near close enough,and that Gomez is a league one player at best

Whatever we had in Pep's previous seasons we have lost. What has happened to passing sides off the pitch, opening teams up with intricate movement and slick passing because at the moment this football is fucking tripe.

Well done to Southampton, had a plan and it worked. But I think that me, you and a used johnny would have beaten that city side tonight.

Absolutely furious at our lack of concentration and application. So many misplaced passes, our game never stood a chance.

Gomes, Cancelo, Walker, Phillips.... All shocking.

Clear to me, unfortunately, that we need to bring someone in to compete this season. We have no left back. We have a right winger who can play at left back, a centre back who will play there just to get a game, and a league 2 quality midfielder who shits his pants faster than sammy shittypants at the pant shitting Olympics.

At least our starting eleven for the derby picks itself:

GK: Not Ortega
DR: Not Cancelo
DCR: Not Walker
DCL: Not Laporte
DL: Never Gomes
DM: Not Phillips

And so on....

Thoroughly disappointing performance. Southampton up for it from the off whilst we appeared to think it will happen in our own sweet way if we just amble about the pitch. The problem with our slow pace of both player movent and movement of the ball is we appear to lose concentration and end up conceding possession.
Not sure what is going on but twice in the last three or four games Pep has looked a little lost and slightly disinterested.
It was a poor set up from the off and whilst the changes made a slight difference we were still second beat.
That is Everton and Southampton, both fighting for survival who has caused us numerous problems.

Can't believe we have 5 senior CBs on the books and 3 FBs, yet we start with 3 FBs and 1 CB as our defence.

Phillips isn't a patch on Fernandinho. Gomez is nowhere near Zinchenko. Palmer is nowhere near Sterling.

The squad is much weaker despite adding Haaland. We don't have anyone who can stretch the pitch out wide.

We want to play inverted fullbacks yet sold our best fullback for that system.

It's the weakest squad iteration since Pep joined. And Pep is having a really poor season too. So many erratic decisions, the system doesn't fit the personnel.

Agree on all fronts.

I was sceptical this summer that we were selling all our alternatives up front and leaving ourselves short across the piece.

Txiki and Pep had an absolute nightmare.

How arrogant do you have to be to believe you can sell more than you buy and improve? So, so poor.
