Stop using phrases like Rolls Royce players

Dortmund fans didn't mind losing him one nit and here he becomes Vincent Kompany lite. Stood there like post for second goal watching the play. Criminal there
 
Had a good game for the first 80 minutes but what was he doing for the second goal? I remember when we signed him hearing that he was a good defender who is also known for regularly making big errors in big moments and it looks like that's exactly what we've got.
 
A few on here a couple days ago were saying how we have a bargain and he already paid his fee back. Fucking ridiculous. Id like to say hes fine as a backup and for cup games but he was shit against Southampton as well.
 
Fine as a fourth choice pick when the whole squad is fit and available. Stones is obviously our best centre-back by a distance and was missed today.
 
He had to play today because we had no option. He should have been alongside Laporte but Pep seems to like making a game of it these days by playing our 4th and 5th choice CBs. Teams don’t win things when they consistently put out weakened sides and we are doing it every week.

As I said- he lacks the mentality. He's far too casual.. He was the same way in the damn World Cup. Plays like he's strolling through the park.
 
Great today - apart from just totally SWITCHED OFF for Rashfords goal - just stood there & watched him shoot !!

The only time he had to do any real defending he was found wanting again. Him and Ake are fine, if all we want is our CBs to pass sideways and do no defending.
 
Starting to have my doubts. Not good enough with the ball and not proactive enough in defence. Squad player, nothing more.
 
He was the one who set the tone for the game early on… negatively.

He gave the ball away four times in the first eight minutes, under no pressure.

Even when he doesn’t give it away (and this is in every game), every pass he passes is too soft and takes an age to get to the man he’s passing to.

Everything he does is too slow.

The whole team is slow that 1st half I thought we were playing over 50’s walking football. Boring to watch
