North Stand Construction Discussion

tv companies are renown for turning down/muting crowds.

Sky do it alot,
they are well known for it, i remember a derby at OT probably 2004/05 season we drew 0-0 and were constantly singing "oh when the blues go marching in" all through HT , a friend text me to say all you could hear on TV were City fans singing but it went quiet on TV but Niall Quinn who was on the panel made a point of whistling along to let everyone know City fans were very vocal.

Are they going to have to close it while the works done? So we'll be operating with 3 sides for a bit?
Given that we don't know what they're going to do yet, that's tricky to answer. If a single tier then perhaps, if two them maybe 'just' tier 2, if a mirrored South Stand then probably not.

If tier 2 does get shut it'll be interesting to see where the family stand fans get moved to and whether it's permanent.

given I sit on row 1 of tier 2 then I expect to be sat next to Pep to keep me happy! seriously though we need to create a block or 2 in maybe tier 3 as a tourist section and maybe relocate a smaller family stand, love my current seat but my son has relocated to SS and there are others that sit near me whose kids have either moved or no longer go.

No. Will be built exactly like the south stand from behind while it remains open. Liverpool doing similar with the Anfield Rd stand this season as well.

There is a scenario where they could completely replace the current 2nd tier rather than join on to it but the lower tier would remain open in that instance.

It was loud as well, funny to look back now and a draw at the scum was the highlight of the season...

Can’t make the picture any larger really as it’s already blurring.

Click on the Hobs3D link below to see the original smaller picture, but clearer.

The larger and cleaner picture showing the Etihad model is also by Hobs3D.

The North stand with 3 tiers.

Peter Bradshaw, MCFC Director of Estates commented: “We are really impressed with the quality, level of detail and consistency across the four models. We’re incredibly proud of our new facilities and the work we are doing to regenerate East Manchester; these models showcase the enormity of the scheme and our investment. The reaction from our players, staff and visitors has been tremendous and the models are a fantastic finishing touch to the new campus.”

There’s been no fan consultation, all they ever seem to do is gear everything to making as much money out of something as they can, knowing what City are like I’m 90% sure that mirroring the South Stand with a corporate second tier is what they’re going to do.

That 10% that they’ll do something special is keeping me hopeful.

I’m trying to keep an open mind.

I have no doubt the expanded North stand, 2 tiers looks likely due to various people/posters posting that, City Plaza(Square), the Hotel, and the Museum will have the wow factor. But I’m more bothered about the stand layout, the safe standing and seating arrangements, the singing section, and everything we’ve all discussed that will hopefully create a better atmosphere and a proper home end.

For me this is the most important thing that could come from the expansion. Atmosphere. This is the last chance and I'm desperate for it to be done right.

Did I imagine the website page that City put up asking for feedback?

That would be really depressing for both atmosphere and facilities. Level 3 was done as cheaply as possible. I doubt a new stand anywhere in a top flight league in Europe has been constructed or finished as poorly as level 3.
