PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Whilst not disagreeing, won’t they need to crack on given a guilty verdict will likely mean sanctions of some sort, other than financial? If relegation was an option, it’d need to happen as close to the end of the season as possible. Transfer ban would need to be before the window opened. Points off couldn’t wait for the same reason. Not only that, but having this hanging around for the whole of next season doesn’t help anyone.
Any sanction they gave would presumably have to be put on hold pending an appeal anyway?

As others have said I really hope the club don’t leave Pep to face the media alone on Friday. Soriano or Khaldoon have to make some kind of statement sometime before and the club should bar the media from asking Pep about it. Not only is it very unfair for Pep to be questioned about this but it’s such a serious situation that we don’t need the media setting traps for him to say something that will then get used against us.
Feeling a bit more positive about it all tonight but bloody hell what a day!
Pep's got this....to the mc hammer tune can't touch this....& the winner is....PEP.

I think that the club would like it dealt with swiftly. That was certainly something that they made clear before CAS and, if you're as innocent as our statement says we are, why wouldn't you want it over with quickly?

Deep dive here if you can handle the truth. Or my guess on it. A lot of people including Fernandinho himself listened in!

Have you cheered up since this morning’s tap in and providing easy content for our enemies like Nick Harris, Stefan?
You gave that ugly City hating **** an open goal today and quite frankly, you should be embarrassed about that
Expected better of you tbh

Glad your a bit happier now

The club are run by some of the best businessmen in the world and will employ the services of some of the best legal minds in the world.

I suspect they will fight the charges on far more solid legal grounding than 'victimisation and ethnic racism.'
I don't man, depending on who is hearing our case being victims of racism in today's world might be just as or more effective of a defence.

I just feel so bad for him. What he has done for this league and English football is forever going to be diminished by the media lapdogs because of all this crap even when, hopefully, we are cleared of any wrongdoing. If the fucking Rags or Dippers had Pep he would be treated like a fucking king! Bastards!

Some of the tabloids for tomorrows reading is hatred towards us.

Yet again the fans are the ones that have to put up with all this. I hope our owners are true to their word and not been taking us all for a ride.
It’s been one hell of a ride, nothing can change the high’s this club has given us all. We are wealthy and successful, haters gonna hate

I know for a fact that one of his half-time inspirational team-talks involved the statement: 'You're all fat cats!' Didn't seem to inspire anyone apparently...

I think the Twitter spaces chat was really helpful. It's bigger than I thought, so when people are saying relegation is a realistic outcome if found guilty they really mean that. The good news is the league realistically has to prove that we have knowingly and deliberately cooked the books at every level of the organization, that multiple parties have covered and lied about it, and that auditors and independent regulators of multiple companies have either been misled or failed to spot this. It's a huge set of claims that will need to be established, to the extent that even Stefan isn't sure that the premier league fully appreciate what they've set themselves up for. But if they can realistically demonstrate that this has been happening every season, year after year, then it's not a slap on the wrist.

Edit: from this chat, this line from CAS seems absolutely critical: if what the premier league are saying is true it would “mean that not only [Manchester City] lied to the [league] and UEFA, but also that accountancy firms such as BDO, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and AlixPartners […] were all misled". To which we might add and failed to identify that they were misled. This misleading isn't just within CFG, but in Etihad Airways and all the rest of the companies involved. It's very easy to sneer about this (ha ha, who is the Etihad owned by), but the implications are enormous in terms of geopolitical and business fallout for a three person panel to settle behind closed doors. You'd essentially be saying that half of the big four auditors and multiple organizations around the world have failed to spot City's wrongdoing and/or are complicit in their coverup. Big, international, mainstream businesses. It really is a huge claim.

It’s going to be an absolute pile on from the media and opposition fans for the next few months (years) until we are (hopefully) exonerated - in the meantime we are going to need thick skins and a sense of humour. Whatever happens we will still be there week in, week out and whether its vs Bayern or Borehamwood.

Was thinking we might need to update a few songs to show that we really don’t give a f*ck.

I’m no Noel Gallagher but maybe something like this to the tune of “we never win at home …”

Oh we spent loads of cash and ignored fair play
Banned by UEFA but we got away
We won’t give a fuck if it goes tits up
M C F C - Always

Shit, I know but you get the idea …..
