PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Having read the club statement in response, I'm disappointed but not surprised by the passivity of it. It would be nice if just once the "professionalism" slipped and the club let go with both barrels, and followed it up with an immediate legal response to all potentially libellous or slanderous comments from the media and other clubs.

Given our continued understated manner of dealing with these relentless attempts to undermine everything achieved in the last decade has obviously had about as much success as the scum have enjoyed in that period, surely a different approach is long overdue

I think these charges have made this a lot more serious than anyone thought.

No one expected this to go any further, this is a shocker today.

As said earlier, if we are so squeaky clean why have we let it go on for so long?
City are not responsible for how the Premier league act or what they say. We can only control what we say and do.
Why have we let it go on so long?
It's not City's fault the Premier league have taken 4 years to decide to drag City's name through the mud.
Consider this. These financial rules only came in when City started winning. Would City be held to account if we weren't winning anything? These new 'rules' are because the old cartel don't like to lose in a fair and square way so they have moved the goalposts. And when City won at the court of arbitration they moved the goalposts again. That's why there needs to be an independent body and not one (the Premier league) where other clubs are making the decisions...because they have a vested interest in City failing and their own clubs winning.
